You need to watch The Warning at a festival in Graenichen, Switzerland a few days ago as recorded by DomWie. It was done from Ale’s side of the stage and her bass stands out. You realize that Ale plays way more complicated riffs than you normally hear when the mix is more combined. In QOTMS Ale plays a lead line at the same time as when Dany does her solo. Ale often is playing the lead in many songs.

Thanks Alan. Always really enjoy your breakdowns. It enhances the listening for me. Hearing those underlying riffs and rhythms makes you realize how much layering there is, and how Kanami is an undeniable genius when it comes to composing and arranging music. Also note everyone has a chance to have their own solo in the song. Even Miku has her part following the solos when Saiki and Dani start singing again. You can clearly hear only her guitar is playing. I love the song and you just made it even better for me. Thank you.

Ale has a LOT of technical bass playing in Warning songs. The bass slide is a trademark that she uses in like a half dozen songs. Check out Martirio for her best playing IMHO. She has some amazing countermelodies in that one. Yeah, she's not doing Les Claypool shit ever second, but she's an amazing technician who does exactly what the song needs, and knows exactly when to show off.

Great breakdown Alan. For some reason in my dum head I thought that they were going to release a tidied up version from the live show- which is partly why all the fuss about the fan cam footage etc. I little bit of what I feared about the studio version has happened. Some of the acoustic stage sound from the drums and guitars has been lost as well as the fact that, live you could hear the difference in tone between the lead vocals, they are very much the same in this version, but as you picked out, is why they offset the vocals to create the difference artificially. Great song all the same and as a Band-Maid fan it has definitely changed my opinion of The warning- so much so we've Got tickets for the next Warning next show in the UK. The same for Lovebites who we saw last month.

Cool song but don't love the vocal sound. Would have been cool if Pau had sung a verse. Glad to hear that everything wasn't snapped perfectly to the grid which in my opinion makes music sound fake and robotic. See Rick Beato's video about Led Zeppelin Fool in the Rain. Wish Danny would play more solos on the new Warning album. I also feel like they over used that distorted vocal effect on the new album. I prefer the vocal sounds from the 1st 3 Warning albums but just my opinion. I like the album overall.

This is very Japanese, reflecting the group-oriented approach in Japanese society. Everybody has an equal opportunity to shine, and nobody outshines anyone else. They have a party and have fun all together. The only thing was that Miku didn’t have her dance partner. I saw them perform this live, and I felt kind of bad for her because she was kind of left alone. That’s the only thing, but what can you do? Five and three band members have to be mixed. Miku has to be a grown-up to take the hit this time. You can’t make things perfect every time, but that’s life. You have to make the best of it. Very Japanese. 🤘😂🤘

I have to admit I was impressed by Ale's mini-solo at 4:48 in this video - not so much what she played but her tone and the fact she played it in an expressive way. Also, virtuosity is only one reason Band-Maid are my favourite band, and not the most important one. I like The Warning more than some bands with more technical prowess.

@renemonroy2145 ай бұрын
I actually think Pau is more virtuous. Also Dany has more range and control on vocals. But all around is not fair to compare both in a simple way because their styles are way different, the number of members make them focus on their instruments better and since The Warning is 10 years younger than Band Maid it’s obvious who has more experience. Let’s be real and say that both bands will always play different, is not a competition and that’s fine. We don’t want them to be the same.

This song/video does one thing emphatically. It Christens Saikia as the Reba McEntire of Japanese metal. Do not duet with her if you want any kind of vocal presence. Shows exactly how strong and powerful her voice is. Daniela may as well not even be there when she's not singing a solo line. As strong as her voice is, Saiki just overpowers her and makes it disappear.

To me this just sounds like Tha Maid's gave up and decided to become a Warning cover band, with Kanami underneath reminding you that Band-Maid is in there somewhere. And Akane (my favorite drummer on earth) playing the most boring drum beat of her career. In Bestie she showed restraint, which is different. This is just dull I say this with a heavy heart but this is Dub for me. 👎

@@francisconavarro669 Not even close! From 2015 to present Band-Maid has (with the guestimated addition of the new album) about 115 songs that they've written collectively together. About 145+ altogether including acoustic remakes and Band-Maiko re-mixes and early non-creative control pieces. And not 1 them outside of "Thrill" (which Is revered as the G.OAT. for a whole host of other reasons) is as musically simplistic and boring as this. Band-Maid is famous for never playing the same thing twice within a song from verse to verse always evolving, changing and pushing the song forward. This evolving style of play opens the door for the drums to be uniquely creative and amazingly expressive & dynamic. None of that is displayed here.
@francisconavarro6695 ай бұрын
@@Studio-Coast_Kid but yet again you only hear BM here, ask anyone outside BM, and theyll say you that. The problem here is that hardcore fans of each band will never like the other band enough and doesnt have to do with their talents and abilities or not, it just has to do with their styles. I dont know why harcore BM reactors react to TW here and there when they clearly dont like them, in this case is a BM song, but it is like that all the time. BM can have all the songs that you want, but I will always hear the same one everytime, cause im not moved by their style.

@@francisconavarro669 And again not even close, the only thing that sounds remotely like Band-Maid is the last 12 seconds and Miku's choral harmony. The Band-Maid sound is Bsss forward in the mix, with Dynamic Shifting Drum patterns, no repetitions from verse to verse, with a catchy knock it out of the park chorus. None of that is in this mess of a song It was even said in the interview that Kanami had written the baseline of the song, but that the Warning found it so unfamiliar that they made changes to inject their musical colors into it. This process apparently went back and forth a few times ( per the article) Untill it ended up, as well.....this. Classic case of too many cooks ruining the soup. As I stated before 2015 -2024 115+ songs banger after banger, nothing but net. Then an outside influence goes sticking their fingers into the recipe and then this. Coincidence, I think not!

In my opinion, the vocals don’t go well together, as the English from Band-Maid is more noticeable off by the contrast created by The Warning’s singer. Maybe Band-Maid should have sang in Japanese? Although Band-Maid seems to have better musicians, while The Warning has better singers, coming together doesn’t create any magic, since the weaknesses of both becomes more apparent by contrast.

This might be the first Band-Maid release I actually dislike. Not a lot that works for me in this release. The constant singing together rubs me the wrong way as I don't think TW's singer' and Saiki's voice work well together. They key is also really high and they both keep almost screaming. And it's made worse by the vocal-forward mix. The lyrics themselves are English which doesn't work for me for Band-Maid in general but in this case they are even very much one-dimensional in meaning. I somehow had high expectations for this song for some reason but the involvement of TW just watered down what makes Band-Maid great IMO. I know it's written by Kanami but TW's influence is apparent. I think they should have expanded the "battle" aspect more to the vocals as well, having alternating lines in Japanese by Saiki and in English by TW. And then mixing it like a normal Band-Maid song. Let me hear the guitars! It's rock, not pop, don't bury them under the vocals!
