Hey Jacob! I'm definitley someone who's is obsessed over Coldplay. The piano that Chris is using is called a Kawai K300-ATX2. It's a hybrid piano where you can play the piano acoustically just like any other upright piano, or you can go into "Silent Mode" and use some sounds that aren't actually pianos (strings, organs, etc.) This is what's happening here with Chris' electric piano. Also, Jonny (the guitar player) is making the pad at the beginning.

His piano is amazing, it’s kinda acoustic and electric, he also plays fix you (organ sound) there

His piano is a regular piano and they control backstage what sound it makes through the output. So the hammers do hit the strings and it is real, and they change it afterwards backstage. They also do that with the drums in live shows, as Coldplay often has different sounds for different songs. Its using trigger pads and then using live sample replacement on each drum to match the sound. That way the same piano can do all kinds of sounds, from Fix You's organ, to normal piano to this.
@JacobRestituto3 жыл бұрын
mmm really? where did you hear that about the piano?
@TheNish1013 жыл бұрын
He said in an interview don't remember, Stern I think, that it is infact an E-piano.
@WHISTLELP153 жыл бұрын
The piano is a Kawai K300 ATX2. You have the normal piano, a silent setting (hammers aren't able to hit strings, you listen through headphones)and all kinds of other piano/keys sounds (i believe played through a speaker on the inside). You can also mix the normal piano with the electronic sounds.
@koleybolen13143 жыл бұрын
The piano is custom actually! It’s sent to mainstage in the backstage area! The guitar player is playing most of the pads with a synth guitar effect. They are also playing to tracks. The electronic drums are actually being played by drum triggers being sent to ableton!
@TheNish1013 жыл бұрын
So Will Champion (the drummer) is actually the triggerman for the track and mostly in charge of keeping the rest of the group in sync with it. This is why you see Chris call out "Ok, Will Let's Go!" when they start many songs or mid-song.
@Kboss003 жыл бұрын
Will is such a badass. Watching the documentary of how he had to literally get better in order to stay with the band, and now one of the best off beat drummer’s live with any band.. it’s just fascinating!

@@Kboss00 what’s the name of the documentary?
@Kboss003 жыл бұрын
@@ececew sorry I guess I should’ve said the documentary “a head full of dreams.” I believe in the beginning they talk about how Will was almost let go of, because of his amateur drumming skills. That’s why you slowly hear the drumming in each album from Coldplay getting better and better..

Hi Jacob, greetings from the Netherlands. I enjoy watching your reaction videos, the way you point out those little details. Very informative. This was a really nice performance. A long, long time ago, I recommended a band called Nightwish to you. At the time, you said that you'd be interested to give it a listen. Unfortunately, you never did. So I want to give it one more try, as it's something I think you'll appreciate. Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band with a Dutch singer, Floor Jansen. She has one of the best female voices in metal today. None of their songs are alike. There are epic and melodic songs, like the one I’m recommending now, but they can also go really heavy on you and the next song could be very celtic sounding or even jazzy. Their music is exceptionally well composed. Their musicality is outstanding and so is their lyrical content. They are at their best live, so give the song ‘Ghost Love Score’ a try. It was recorded at Wacken 2013, in front of 82 000 people (the sound is very well mixed by the way). You might be surprised. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIrNep9-jKd0jNE

With all the horrible live performances of Selena I see, I don’t believe any of her singing anymore. She probably recorded the “live version” in her studio and lipped synced it on stage, like she has done so many times before.
