Hi guys, and welcome to my channel. If you're new here, my name's Rachel and I'm a musician - once again I reacted to a Maneskin song, because I don't actually think they can possibly make bad music by this point! Today I listed to 'Le Parole Lontane' from their 2018 album 'Il Ballo Della Vita' and my goodness what a song. With beautiful guitar timbre's and backing vocals, once again Maneskin have blown me away with their talent.
Please subscribe if you haven't already. I make music reaction videos, covers and have a film series in which I make commentary about silly films once a month, so feel free to check those out if you wish.
Thanks for watching, and I'll see you again soon!

La canzone è nata da Thomas Raggi, lui ha creato la melodia con la sua chitarra classica e Damiano ha inserito il testo, come sempre. Ma questa volta, forse, il suono supera il testo. La canzone, come tutto l'album, parla di MARLENA. Marlena ... I feel you are far from me. Si, hai ragione, Damiano è "dannatamente" bravo.

I'll translate, cause this is so interesting: The song was created by Thomas Raggi, he came up with the melody on his classic guitar and Damiano wrote the lyrics, like usual. This time though, the sound may be even better than the lyrics. The song is about Marlena, like all the other songs in the album.

This is my favourite song by Måneskin. Whenever I listen to it I simply stop whatever I am doing. Like you, I am so amazed by how lyrics, you don't understand the first time you listen, can affect you this much. I am seriously so stunned by the impact Måneskin has on me as a listener! This song is just mesmerising to me, and I simply can't get enough of it. The instruments, especially the guitar, invited you in, and Damiano's voice just... yeah, it is just beautiful. Hope their new album will give at least another number like this! Absolutely love their slower songs, but a good mix is of course the best! Thank you for reacting to this! Love all your reactions, they are so pure!

About the lyrics (and mind you, I say this as a poet), you can check any translation, but as the saying goes, something is inevitably lost, and in the case of Mäneskin it is the artistry behind the rhymes. Damiano has an almost unheard-of capacity to tell a story and create tension through sound and alliteration. For instance, the oh-so-beautiful bridge to the second refrain is heightened by Damiano's powerful employment of assonance: "E adesso portamami a casa che mi spaventa l'invERNO/le gambe stanno cedENDO,/non vedi che ho troppo frEDDO/Marlena portami a casa, che il tuo sorriso è stupENDO/ma sai se adesso ti pERDO/non vedo neanche più a un mETRO/..." Incredibile...

Yay, another Måneskin reaction! This song is one of my favourites too, it's both relaxing and somehow haunting at the same time, and it just flows so effortlessly. The official music video for this one is definitely worth checking too, even if you don't make a reaction to it, as it offers a beautiful visual side to this melody and follows the lyrics too. Even the ending where you got the feeling of not wanting for it to be over yet is portrayed on the video! The story is all about their inspiration or muse (Marlena as she's called on this album) coming to them, letting them create great things, and then leaving them feeling empty again until next time. Luckily we know by now that she's kept visiting them and hopefully will for a long long time!

This is a favorite song of a person dear to me. But unfortunately it is very far away. As the line of the song says "Perché ti sento lontana da me", what does it mean in translation "because you're so far away from me." We won't be able to meet this person for a very long time - about seven years, but when I listen to this song, I feel that she is getting closer to me. I am not able to hold back tears listening to her. It beautiful This song helps me breathe, live, write and love.

Glad you are back. Guitar's Line is totally Thomas spirit's shady Side. . There is a video when he introduced this Melody to the others. They said :It is fabulous, he replaied, it is a bomb. Damiano said, this works much better in italian, l Can make something good out of it.... The video of the Song is very interesting; influenced in some way by Bertolucci's Movie "The Dreamers" about the living way of young bohemiens and students rebellion in 1968.

Lovely reaction, as always! Le parole lontane is my favourite song hands down. If I were the type to get tattoos, I would get the first line of this song - come l'aria mi respirerai - breathe me like I am the air - tattooed on my arm. This song is about a fleeting nature of inspiration that comes to everyone in different ways and goes away very easily, but without it we are incomplete and lost. And can you imagine, Thomas was just 17 when he wrote this music?

Distant words Like air you'll breathe me On the day I'm hiding you In phrases you won't hear Because your mistake was loving me as if Tomorrow the world would be the same as yesterday Now let me believe that this is real Because I feel the anxiety that rises, I drink the bitter tears Please let me lose myself in the water of the sea Because the distant words, I swear I want to shout them Because I feel you far away, far away from me Because I feel you far away, far away from me Because I feel you far away, far away from me Because I feel you far away Time will burn all paper that mentions you You'll cry with me under the sun, then it'll pour down To carry away the probably useless sentences We'll sing together, but remaining silent Now, take me home because the winter scares me, and my legs are giving up. You can't see how much I'm freezing. Marlena, take me home because you smile is wonderful But you know that if I lose you, I'll never walk a metre again. Because I feel you far away, far away from me Because I feel you far away, far away from me Because I feel you far away, far away from me Because I feel you far away Because I feel you far away, far away from me Because I feel you far away, far away from me Because I feel you far away, far away from me Because I feel you far away Like air you'll breathe me On the day I'm hiding you In phrases you won't hear lyricstranslate.com

This was such a lovely reaction. I always appreciate your insights as a musician and how you notice the way each element of a song is layered. This is one of my favourite Måneskin songs. It stands out to me particularly, because of the medieval sounding melody which I just find Incredibly beautiful, especially with the mournful Eddie Vedderesque vocals. Fortuitously, the exact moment that Thomas came up with the guitar melody for Parole Lontane is captured in the documentary "This is Måneskin." It blew my socks off to see Thomas, seemingly absently mindedly plucking guitar strings outside in the evening air, pull this sombre and beautiful music out of the ether. It was as though Marlena herself had whispered into his ear in that moment. The documentary follows the band during the conception, writing, recording and touring for their album Il Ballo Della Vita. It's a great bts look at the way they function as a band and as friends so I highly recommend it. Someone has kindly uploaded a version with English subs too! I l love rock but I've never been a ballad lover before. Måneskin have changed that for me, there's something they do that just makes their ballads work for me and I think the key is the emotional authenticity.

the song is inspired by a poetry from the Middle Ages in Italy. About a warrior he must fighting a war in far land and he must leave his home and his love behind, thinking he will never see her again. He rights a letter to her. Le parole lontane = words from afar / words from far away the best thing about this song is that you feel the pain what it means when two lovers are separated by the circumstances of life

Hi, Rachel! Awesome reaction, as usual!! I had a feeling you were going to love the female vocals in the chorus! Just a bit of the lyrics: "Adesso portami a casa che mi spaventa l'inverno e le gambe stanno cedendo non vedi che ho troppo freddo Marlena portami a casa che il tuo sorriso è stupendo ma sai se adesso ti perdo non vedo neanche più un metro" "Now take me home 'cause winter scares me and my legs are giving out can't you see that I'm freezing Marlena take me home 'cause your smile it's gorgeous but you know if I lose you now, I can't even see a metre away" So, Marlena again (I think all the songs in Italia from Il Ballo Della Vita are about her). I love how you can both read them as the artist scared of losing his muse, but they can also be read as someone afraid of losing a loved one! As others said, you should watch the video, it's really beautiful! And I think you haven't done "Vent'anni" or "For your love" yet? And if you're interested in something different, there's this Slovene band I've recently discovered, Koala Voice. They're indie / alternative, so I think you'd like them! They have a couple of really cool songs. This one, called "Vertigo" has a really cool video, and it's the only one I have found for which you can find lyrics in English. The video is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqKkoYKfZ66kedU , and you can find the lyrics in lyricstranslate(dot)com , who usually have pretty good translations. Have a great rest of the weekend!!

Hi Rachel how nice your new reaction! The distant words express the sadness of Damiano who feels his muse Marlena (creativity, art, music) far from him and tells her: "...because I feel you are far away, far from me! And how the air you will breathe me the day that I will hide you inside lirycs that you will not hear. And your mistake was loving me as if tomorrow the world was the same as it was yesterday!..." You should see the official video maybe with the sub. eng. and you realize everything .. there is Marlena who goes to find every member of the band and then goes away, in the end when she disappears they go out looking for her and look around confused and lost to mean that she is long gone.

Just small tip, Dears consider Dimash as best vocal, which can come in centuries just once. I am one of them.

We’re getting louder!”.

Hi Rachel, lovely post indeed! thank you. I was about to ask you to look at it. It is also for me one of the best pieces of the band. Can I suggest/propose to look also to the offiicial video of such song? it is a piece of art as well, and empowered a lot (visuals + music) the effect. It is amazing. And by the way I am curious about your reaction. So funny and sweet!

I’ll have a look but not sure if it will be allowed for copyright to be recycled through a reaction video. I’ll check it out though :)

@@ThePeaceAround I have seen others youtubers using it, as you did for other maneskin videos, so I guess should be fine, Anyway I understand your want to be safe. in case tell me I will call Damiano :) I am Italian after all, no problems unsolvable. By the way I watched your video about the insulting appreciation by some subscribers. it was sad. My sincere apologizes, as a man I really dismayed and shamed. I just want to tell you as a very partial reparation. It does not change anything but I really hope that none of my fellow contrymans was part of it

"Are you ready?" and "Sh*t Blvd" two examples of Måneskin's versatility but if you want to give an attempt to these two songs be prepared: they are totally different from whatever you listened to so far. Cheers :)

Hi, Rachel! Always a pleasure to watch your reactions. It's a bit of a "pity" that you didn't watch the video, because I find it very fitting for this song, but I know that your aim was to focus on the music and you certainly do that. The video does give you an idea about the song, and I think the backing vocals are somewhat a touch telling of their management from back then, which I'm sure pushed them towards being more melodic and mainstream. I say this because one thing that's very like them, as you noted, is to usually be self-sufficient; they may do collabs, but they don't usually add "big production" stuff like that. And I'm stressing this because it makes me appreciate even more both this original version and the one they sang live at a concert this last April in Italy, where you can really see how far they've come. I strongly suggest you to watch it, because personally I find it both very interesting in itself and a great way for me to appreaciate both versions each in its own right. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHWTd6B_jNyKhZo And one great thing about this version is that a fan added both the lyrics and the English translation, so you can follow the song and fully "get" it as you go along. Maybe even sing... Also, when you get a moment I'd suggest to watch the video, really... Once again, thank you! See you next time!

this song "distant words - le parole lontane" il about a moment when Damiano and Maneskin as a band talk to Marlena (the muse of inspiration) and say to her "I can't feel you.. I feel that you're far from me". Like a stop to the music. Is so cute because is also like a love song. You can say this words also to a persone that you love. When you feel her/him distant from you.
