Let us judge this song objectively - this is a masterpiece, both lyrically as well musically. It conveys all the emotions, it tells the story, and has an amazing melody. "Coraline, Coraline" is in my head all day...Don't think there is a better rock ballad on this side of the millennium !

Finally a reaction from a competent, sensible person, not afraid of showing her emotions, being so sensitive as well and able to understand the depth of the lyrics of this group compared to the shallowness of much of the production in today's music industry. Coraline's weight is so heavy and unbearable because the truth she knows is so difficult even to name... Please go deeper into this and you will understand who is the monster she's afraid of and that keeps her in a cage... Thank you very much indeed for your genuine reaction. I quite enjoyed it.

This song is painfully wonderful. Ultimately, everyone sees in Coraline what he wants, a person, a feeling, a life experience. The power of works of art lie in being able to touch people in the soul in something personal and unique. I must add, as Italian, that although the English translation is accurate, the Italian lyrics is infinitely richer and deeper because there are some untranslatable expressions and verses in rhyme that make the single words much more musical. For not Italian speakers it could be a good reason to start learning my beloved mother tongue.

It's actually wrong. Damiano answered a lot of question about it, and he said it doesn't want to get to personal. This like a fairy tail, but where the prince wasn't able to save the princess. He never mentioned a friend, he said it's something we can interpret as we like. He probably lived something realted to this, o a friend of him did, but we don't actually know. He never said anything about it.

Coraline is a fancy name for a real person. Damiano doesn't want to talk about it. All we know is that she was a little girl he tried to help but the story doesn't have a happy ending. It is assumed that the girl was abused and suffered violence, the depression that followed the trauma was so strong that it pushed her to suicide. It is said that the walls of the castle are the surrounding walls of the Verano cemetery near Rome. A very sad story. A song that leaves its mark. He takes you by the hand and accompanies you serenely at the beginning, then note by note the sky becomes darker and darker and around the landscape becomes more and more harsh, gloomy and you find yourself in a world of despair, the loneliness and helplessness of Coraline, until everything comes to an end and you find yourself at the starting point, same music, same notes, but they no longer sound like they did in the beginning, something is missing, hope is lacking because that girl as beautiful as the sun is gone, her silver knight could not save her. His life and his story end without a happy ending.

And Coraline cries Coraline is anxious Coraline wants the sea but she’s afraid of the water And maybe sea is inside her And every word is an axe, a wound on the back Like a raft sailing on a swollen river And maybe the river is inside her, inside her I’ll be fire, I’ll be coldness A repair during the winter Whatever you breath I’ll understand what’s inside you I’ll be drinking water The meaning of goodness I’ll also be a soldier Or a light in the evening And I don’t ask for anything in return Just a smile Every little tear of yours is an ocean on my face And I don’t ask for anything in return Just some time I’ll be a banner, a shield, or your silver sword, and... And Coraline cries Coraline is anxious Coraline wants the sea but she’s afraid of the water And maybe sea is inside her And every word is an axe, a wound on the back Like a raft sailing on a swollen river And maybe the river is inside her, inside her And tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline Coraline, as beautiful as the sun She lost the fruit of her womb She never knew love But a father that isn’t father-like at all Told her : “in the city there’s a castle with walls so strong that if you go live inside it nothing will ever hurt you again Nothing will ever hurt you again

this is a review (fan page Maneskin) of Coraline (the Maneskin fable about adolescence), and its meaning told by the Maneskin singer himself in the Rockol interview, "Coraline" is a song born almost by chance "in a hotel room. It was me and Thomas. He put the guitar on it, I the idea of the chorus, which we then developed together with the others ". "Coraline" is one of the most streamed singles three days after the release of the new album "Teatro d'ira Vol.I", a fairy tale that the band wanted to tell in its project, a fairy tale without a happy ending. The protagonist of the story "Coraline", a little girl who does not find her place in the world, in a hopeful path towards the light, studded with dark moments . The rock ballad of the Roman group finds its connotations already in the first verse of the song, where the frontman Damiano sings: "If you hear bells singing you will see Coraline crying, taking the pain of others, and then carrying it inside her". The song also tries to address the growing up period of the young woman, in which no trust is placed, a feeling that traumatizes Coraline in her evolutionary process: "She is a child, however, she feels, like a weight and sooner or later she will break, people will say, "It's worth nothing. She can't even get out of a poor door, but one day, one time she will." The arrival of a knight, who tries to help Coraline in her difficulties, does not change the direction of the story, with the same one who seems to remain helpless to the young woman's pain: "Your every little tear is an ocean above my face, and in I don't ask for anything. Just a little time, I'll be banner, shield or your silver sword ". The last verse describes the withering of Coraline, who frightened decides to withdraw into herself, without the possibility of showing herself and her love: "She has lost the fruit of her womb, she has not known love, but a father that a father is nothing, they told her in the city there is a castle with walls so powerful, that if you go and live inside it, nothing can hit you anymore ". summing up, The protagonist of the song is Coraline, a little girl who cannot find her place in the world, even if she undertakes a path that points to the light, despite being faced with difficult and dark moments. The little girl goes through an evolutionary process, in which there is no happy ending, but only a sense of distrust that distresses her and causes her a trauma on the path that leads from adolescence to adulthood. Even the arrival of a man will not change things, as - even if he wants to help her overcome her frailties - she remains impassive to her pain. Thus, the young woman withdraws into herself, precluding herself from the possibility of showing her love, shutting herself in a "castle with such powerful walls" from which she can no longer hit her.

A lil update: this song is about his Girlfriend "Giorgia Soleri" (you can find her on IG and she has the name Coraline tatooed on her arm/shoulder) and this song talks about her disease, a disease she fought for years, a difficult disease called Endometriosis and Vulvodynia... She fought for years before having the diagnose and now she was operated and feels better. After the Sanremo 2022 exhibition Damiano on his IG thanked everybody for Coraline and he wrote "and thank you Giorgia for letting me write it and live it". So the final verse about the castle etc is indeed talking about suicide, but not referred to Giorgia, but referred to the fact that many people with this diseases would not be heard/diagnosed... So that's why many people commit for desperation!

Ciao, Rachel, I m italian. This song was inspired by Damiano's girlfriend. Giorgia suffers from some diseases that affect the female sexual organs which are vulvodynia and endometriosis. Rare diseases that are often not recognized immediately Giorgia Soleri had the merit of raising awareness of these diseases, is an example for many women Damiano wanted to dedicate this song to all women who suffer from rare diseases that are often not recognized and all women who suffer from them are treated like crazy.

I am a bit concerned about lyrics, I guess there is a lost in translation. The specific words Damian sings are not from an everyday Italian, those words give power to the lyrics through the song: vessillo scuro, spada d’argento, mura potenti. I was asking myself, why mura potenti? It is not an adjective for wall, maybe tall should be used, but he used mighty walls because they keep the same taste of the other expressions in the song. Vessillo is the flag used during war to reunite knights, carried by them to identify themselves. So at the end mura potenti makes sense because it connects to the previous spoken register. Then we have to interpret what is the story of coralline, so we know that she lost the fruit of her womb, but she never met love. Is that the cause of her anxiety that make her fear to go out? And the father that has nothing of a father told her the story of the castle with the mighty wall that I interpreted as an asylum, so that he describes the fable of the castle to her to close her in the walls where nothing will touch her again. What I like it is that the song is an open to interpretation poetry written in a chivalrous Italian (chivalrous linguistic register).

Coraline could be about the members of the band. Damiano's ED, Victoria's panic attacks, and Thomas and Ethan's anxiety and sleeping problems. This is not confirmed, because they said that this song can be interpreted in many ways

Ti consiglierei di guardare l'esecuzione di Coreline di ieri 1/2/22 al Festival di Sanremo. Sebbene l'audio e il testo non siano ben comprensibili, colpisce la passione e il sentimento espressi. E' arrivato al cuore.

Thank you! Yeah I don’t know why people fake react, it’s stupid. The best reactions are the visceral ones.
