As an old school PF fan, I was lukewarm on this song (and album) from the start. As it turns out, it is a great song just arranged and performed better by NW (they "Disturbed" the hell out of it) imo.

@@TimoArula Well. There is no proof as Jukka Nevalainen has never said anyting about having a migrane in any interview or article. He has never talked about having a migrane. He has talked about having insomnia but never a migrane. Never in English, never in Finnish. The migraine thing is a myth made by fans of seeing him hold his head for a second during the High Hopes tribute.

@samuraikaito, I’m a lifelong Pink Floyd fan and I can honestly say this Nightwish version of High Hopes is my favorite version by far. I must also confess that since I discovered Nightwish with Floor Jansen(about 7 years ago) they became my all time favorite band and lead singer.🤟🤟✌️✌️🇨🇦

I grew up in the Era of pink Floyd this was a tribute not a cover and it was good and you should learn these people names they are unique and you don't find this kind of talent in one place very often they play real music with real instruments and great singers and then there is tuomas holopainen a composer that only comes once in a generation if we're lucky

Good information on Pink Floyd - but what about Nightwish? And Marco an operatic voice? That is not what I would think of, powerful, versatile, emotional but still and most of the time a pure rock-voice, vibrato and all. An opera singer always sings as clear as possible, not with that harsh tone Marco uses most of the time.

Operatic as in taking on certain characteristics of an opera singer. Many rock vocalists have operatic voices but don't sing nearly as clearly as an actual opera singer. Also, there's not much I can say about Nightwish aside from the performance being listened to as I don't know much about them at all.

The KZbin video is titled “cover” lol… I’ve heard of tribute bands but any cover is a tribute to the band… honestly the same thing I’m not sure why there’s such a huge emphasis on that

@@samuraikaito Let me put it this way. In a cover, the band plays the song. With a tribute, the band manages to capture the soul and spirit of the song and reinterpret it. The song thus gets an independence, which not only copies the original, but appreciates it.

I guess I'm confused because tribute bands are known for keeping things as close to the original band as possible (adopting same playing styles, dressing the same, and even the lightshow in cases like PF). But even then they are still covering the band. I guess just got confused by the terminology used lol.

@@samuraikaito A very good example is Heart "Alone". Did you know it is a cover of I-Ten "Alone"? 99.9% think Heart's version is the original. And yes it is no tribute, because only a few know I-Ten. But it is a very good example what I mean. The version of Heart is fantastic. Keeps the spirit and has an own style. Not only a cover. NW version of High Hopes is the same. Keeps the spirit of PF, but it sounds like NW. A tribute to PF😊
