I'm glad the VA for Dolores is willing to do these stuff. She's a really great person :D Another smaller KZbinr who wrote a fan song for Encanto also got the VA for Dolores to sing that song. It's nice to see that the VA is doing all this Also, if I'm not wrong, Camilo's Spanish dub VA is also gonna sing that fan song. 2 VAs for a fan song, damn. They are nice people

I feel as though they purposely made the beginning of the song very loud so that we can clearly feel what Dolores' everyday life is like. She wakes up, and it isn't quiet for her. Also, the ending is the same, at some point it get quieter, almost fooling us for it to be the end of the song, but then it gets louder! Just to not make us forget that this problem she is facing won't be leaving for her anytime soon (her voice getting softer but the endless chatter in the background Might I recommend the song Our Word for this musical called 36 questions? It is such ... A MASTERPIECE! It's a podcast musical so it doesn't get as much recognition I love how real it is and can get. Thank you!! :DD

!!ENCANTO SPOILERS!! I love that the song is just Dolores hearing everyone’s (the townspeople, her familia) thoughts after dinner with the Guzman’s crashed and burned. It’s a really creative take on the situation and kinda puts Dolores’ perspective into play there. I really, really love that!!

YESS TURN IT DOWN IS AMAZING!! It should actually be in the movie it fits so well and goes with the rest of the songs!! And when Dolores is singing you can hear all the background voices so the listeners can hear sort of what she has to deal with every day. And the VA for Dolores actually is singing! And the other characters singing in this song is also super accurate and amazing. The last part really sounds like Dolores is finally losing it and having a mental breakdown. I added this song to my playlist the second I heard it- it’s just too good. Can make anyone get up and wanna dance.

Even though my own hearing is nothing like Delores's, I still have sensitive hearing and I can tell you having this kind of issue, it stinks! Like there have been times when I hear a high or low pitch (which are very piercing and hurt my ears), and no one else hears it. I can get very light-headed and get headaches as a result. It's why ear plugs and earmuffs are my best friends lol.

Something I always loved of Turning down when it arrived is the voices you can hear when it’s in the main chorus or at the end, because technically that’s what Dolores hears on a daily basis just people talking and it never stops, it’s sort of like us hearing what Dolores is hearing when she is singing her song because if this song WAS in the movie then technically speaking while Dolores is singing about her pain there are people who are talking in the village and Dolores can hear that (and probably really loudly because mirabel said that Dolores can hear a chorus I A MILE away and I’m assuming their close to the village), of course this is just what I think it could be far away from that but I don’t care :)

What I really like is that the phrase and premise of the song reminds me so much of a family member whose trying to work or focus in some way but the rest of the household doesn't respect it (i.e. dad blasting music, sibling playing video games, mum shouting on a call), until eventually the family member loses their patience comes out of their room and screams for everyone to "turn it down".

I think my favorite aspect about the song is the fact that they added an insane amount of background noise that technically didn't need to be there to simulate the perpetual cacophony that Dolores would experience with her gift and emphasize the message of the song. The song starts out with those super loud trumpets that honestly startled me the first time I heard the song (perhaps a parallel to how Dolores would have felt when she first got her gift; relative quiet, and then suddenly, LOUD), and it only gets more and more sounds added from there with the people singing/talking in the background over Dolores's chorus, and you don't quite realize just how loud everything is/has gotten until it goes to Bruno's part and all the extra stuff get's cut out (for as awful as loosing the miracle was for the rest of the family, imagine the overwhelming relief Dolores would have felt when she could finally experience quiet again). I think the line "the roar of whispers in every crowd" is my favorite part of the song because that's basically Dolores's life. She's perpetually experiencing the kind of sensory overload you'd get by being surrounded by a crowd of people all talking at once, to say nothing of how horrible things must be for her when she's *actually* in a crowd.

I'd seen this song in the recommended but I hadn't actually watched it yet. I just realised Dolores' power reminds me of when kid clark kent in man of steel was having trouble controlling his powers and locked himself in a closet because his senses were being overwhelmed. I think Dolores might be able to tune it out to some extent just as superman can otherwise I don't think she would be able to cope with that much noise. Also reminds me of characters with telepathy like saiki kusuo who can basically hear people's thoughts as though they were talking and cant turn it off, which would be annoying.

Camilos Spanish VA (forgive me, I think his name is Juanse Diez but I'll look it up) and Adassa, Dolores' VA who also sang here! Hey David! if you want to hear more Encanto fan songs there's a creator named Laureli Amadeus on youtube who makes some beautiful music! in fact, She got Adassa(dolores) and Juanse Diez (the spanish va for Camilo) to cover one of her songs called "Camilo's Interlude" and she plans to post it on March 30th! The original version of the song sung entirely by her is up on her channel already if you want to listen to it! I'm not sure how she feels about reactions, but i'd still recommend listening to her stuff on your own time if nothing else, she's great! another thing: Adassa Dolores' VA has been so involved in the community and it's really nice to see

Though for myself I'm suggesting some FFXIV songs being Dragonsong, Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Civilizations, and Close in the Distance.
