Watching musicians, rappers or cinema fans react to Ren, you realize how great Ren really is. Singers get off on his singing. Rappers love his flows and his incredible lyricism. Musicians appreciate the arrangement, tempo choices. Directors and videographers are intrigued by the great videos on such minuscule budgets. And, those who pay actual attention to what he is saying . . . are blown away by Ren's vulnerability and humanity and, sometimes, his punk attitude and swag. Ren has it all. He really is a genius.

Ren is back in Brigjton until he finishes the album he is working on. I know he is happy and feeling stronger at home. However, he just found out that he is still fighting off one of the Lyme disease co-infections that will require a long course, like over a year of antibiotics. I'm sure that was a blow to him. I don't know if he will have to go back to Canada for that. He says he should be able to live in and amongst the treatment. He says he will put out an health update soon.

I've seen (heard) some awfully shitty artists make good money off of music. It's more about marketing, attitude, and charisma. Honestly, you should create a separate channel for your music. Upload everything to Spotify also. Plug both links here. Have premieres and chats for them like Ren does. Use your reaction audience to get a leg up. I love watching reactors' own music, but it's often on the same channel, buried under tons of reactions, and just short videos, or not well-produced ones. All of that makes it hard to become a fan.

The cello player is mimicking a seagull at the end. In the original studio version Ren did about a year and a half ago, he used a sample of seagulls in the recording, and he had the cellist recreate it here live.

If I could offer a small bit of (hopefully) constructive criticism, firstly, you don't suck. But I also think it's important not to keep yourself in that head space. I completely agree, I really try. It was near the end of the day, and I really was just starting to give in. The video just made me rethink, so I was sharing what what was going through my head. “If I go to sleep now that’s an anticlimax … A perfect juxtaposition for those out on the lash” I love his word play, the anti - climax of him going to bed as the sun is coming up because there’s more fun to be had. Anti - opposed (seen as a negative) climax (the pinnacle of something also something very positive) and then to bring it around with “juxtaposition”. As a lover of literary symbolism, metaphor and allegory I can dissect this all day. GENIUS! Beautiful guitar playing Btw).

Always enjoy watching with you! Please take the time for yourself to watch the original video for this - its a fantastic one shot with so many brilliant Ren touches. As Ren comes down from his high and ends the song, the seagulls start their crying in a perfect snapshot of Brighton UK. The Cello player at the end of this version, when he is sliding up the strings, is recreating that sound from the original version - simply brilliant. Having that end lyric sang is the icing on the cake for this fantastic version, but as a video, the first can't be beaten. Go and enjoy it friend :)

Live music is best when you allow it to breathe a bit, it allows the song to gel and build up. Ren gets that. Awesome reaction.

The sliding on the cello: In the studio version Ren added seagull noise and I think that's what they're tryin to recreate. The lyrics are the same ones as the studio version. How they're recording: Ren uses zoom recorders a lot for these types of recordings. Wireless mics are a possibility, too.

The thing about the the copyright case. Is Jagger & Richards didn't write the string part. And it wasn't on the original recorded song "The Last time". It was on an orchestral version that was released later. And the composer got no royalties. He was paid a one off payment. So they didn't own it. It was all Alan Kline. That made the claim. Because he owned the publishing.The same man that ripped off the Beatles & the stones. And every act he was involved in. The song made millions. It was used on an advert too. And won awards. Richard Ashcroft finally got royal payments he deserved.

Richard Ashcroft is a super talented songwriter. And wrote some amazing songs. "The drugs don't work" was for me his best song. And it was huge in the U K & Europe. Don't know about the U S. It was a bigger song than this. At number 1 for a while. About his dieing father. He had many hits with the Verve & solo. So he did more than ok. He got the credit he deserved. The guy that composed the strings got no royalties at all. The drugs don't work they just make you worse. And I hope I see your face again. Brilliant.

Why not go forward with the music; as an oldster, I can promise that you can never plan for what comes throughout life. You may as well follow the dream path instead of wondering "what if" because there's nothing gained in saving your music passion for a better time. I love how there's an instant smile on your face when the music starts because itbrings you joy. Ren gives us a piece of his intrinsic love for music with every song and that misic can sustain our beings.

Love watching your Ren reactions, have been following you since Hi Ren - hopefully you’re aware of the current situation between Ren and Kujo, and why Ren’s album title track Sick Boi has been removed from all streaming channels and is no more. If not Ren explains all in a video - which is really worth watching, especially as it gives context to a new track he’s dropping this Thursday (5th) He’s lost Sick Boi forever which totally fucking sucks, however the reactor community is getting behind him and I know, as a supporter Ren’s music, you’d want the heads up that he’s getting it all off his chest in a diss track and will want to be in on the action.
