So I found your video because I am a diehard RENegade. I subscribed because you’re commentary was amazing. You did ask for suggestions. My suggestion would be to make the box that you’re reacting in a little bigger. I’ve watched his video hundreds of times and I know what it is. I would like to see more of your reaction. Since it’s on my phone, the little square made it difficult. I had to zoom in to see how you were reacting to the video. Us RENegades are very loyal and we get very excited when someone finds his music. I can’t wait to watch you fall down his rabbit hole. He practically does every genre and he is known for his one takes. I did watch him in an interview talk about this particular video. He did not have permission to be there and a guy came to kick them out. So the sound is a one take but the video they filmed it, I think, five times before getting kicked out. So the video is him taking the best parts out of the five videos. I look forward to future reactions.

I’m not so sure about that. The thing about being creative is that it requires you to have a good understanding of how things are usually done. When you understand the mechanics of the art form, you can start challenging the “rules” and make something that is more original. Ren understands the “box” very well, and as such, he can challenge what form the box can take. Art isn’t really new anymore in the sense anything has never been done before, but we continue to learn what limitations exist before one thing transforms into something else. For example, if you are writing a story, there is the horror genre, but also mystery, sci-fi, fantasy, crime, thriller, and others. To write a horror story which challenges the conventions of what a horror story is, you have to understand how the genres are defined as distinct, how they have evolved, but also how they have been blended. Otherwise what you create is unlikely to be what you think it is. Sort of like cooking while only knowing the ingredients. TLDR: Ren wouldn’t be this creative if he didn’t understand his craft (the box) extremely well.

You're actually not that far off on the idea of death. At one point Ren was mostly bedridden and thought his music journey was over. He was misdiagnosed for years. When he finally got the right diagnosis and started to get treated for what actually was wrong, he sort of had a rebirth.

When we say he was ill, we aren’t exagerating, we have all seen proof from his own words, we mean that he was mistreated so severely from wrong illnesses and his Lyme disease continued to progress, he was bedridden for ten years. Or more. He was in complete psychosis for years I think that was about 15 years ago it started. And man, if you haven’t , and you like rap in the littlest bit, which obviously you do, you must see THE HUNGER, where you will find out he separates himself from 99.9% or more of rappers. I can’t wait to see ya do it! Man, we connected with you. I e love to hear od others struggles, it reminds us, that like the GOAT says, “I must not forget. We must not forget. Welcome to the community. There is an army of Ren fans that are legit addicted to watching people react to his work. Ren is a master of blending genres. He can never choose just one because that would limit him creatively. You never know what you're about to hear when pressing play on a new Ren track. This song was recorded live in a basement they didnt have permission to use. They only got four takes before getting kicked out. The video you just watched was the third take out of those four. I just saw your Hi Ren reaction, and put this journal entry of Ren's as my comment to that reaction. jAN 01, 2023 rEN~ Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticize or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed. I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head. When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus. These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between. My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished. My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world. The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war. For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person. I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought. Hi Ren comes out in just over 24 hours. I can't wait for you all to hear it.

What's crazy is that was all done in one take. He was really playing and really singing to the entire thing it was not dubbed in later and recorded in the studio or anything like that. The man's got some mad skills. It's almost not even music or not even a music video it's like a whole production it's all of it together, it's just amazing. What's the first time I've been able to understand when someone says that something is art. This without a doubt Is a artist and that is an amazing piece of art.. I never really understood that until now. And this is one of the best breakdowns I've seen in a long time. I am definitely subscribing. Your doing an amazing job keep up the good work. Dude! This was top tier! I don't comment on videos often, but I've probably seen 100 Ren reactions and this one's got to be in my top 5. Thank you for going deep on your critique and explaining what you loved about the song and video. That was awesome. As for critique, my only suggestion would be to throttle back on the number of meme cuts. It's a fine line between using them as a fun type of punctuation to your content, or crossing into slapstick territory. You definitely earned my like and subscribe today!

But you’re right I’m not overusing them which is why I go back and make sure I have just enough but I’m definitely mindful of it. Just something to change it up from what everyone else is doing.
