“This fills me with such joy” I felt that. Out of all the music out there, this is the first song to ever make me cry. It reminded me of so many memories with my friends from the country and myself being a metalcore fan we use to give each other so much crap for the type of music we listen to. Never thought I’d see the day something like this would happen. I wish so bad I could go back to my younger years and jam this with those friends!

The album the mockingbird & THE CROW is half country and half ROCK (you will know the style based on caps ON or off)... HARDY is incredible performer too and he is coming on super strong in 2023 as he spent so many years behind the curtain writing songs for self and damn near everyone in Nashville!!

Hardy's out here creating his own genre. Lol. Try "Sold Out" and "Mockingbird And The Crow." And if you want straight up country, he's got that, too. 😉

I'm a massive metal head like I listen to Infant Annihilator, and Chelsea Grin for hours everyday and I joke about hating country, but when it's done well like this or if it has good non generic song writing I can groove to it more than expected, though I won't go out of my way to listen to it lmao.

Hardy is a country singer. His first album A Rock definitely had rock influence but his new album Mockingbird and the Crow is fully half country and half metal. The whole album shows off both sides of himself. Definitely check it out. He’s also got a great cover of Blurry

What makes this even better is how prolific of a pop-country songwriter Hardy is. MEGA-hits like Up-Down by Florida Georgia Line, Sand in my Boots and More than my Hometown by Morgan Wallen, and God's Country by Blake Shelton are just a few of the songs he co-wrote that went to #1 on US country charts. The dude knows how to write a catchy hook that'll get played on radio, he literally went to college for it when he studied commercial songwriting in Tennessee. I'd definitely check songs from his album The Rock like Boots, Unapoligetically Country as Hell, and Truck. They're kinda corny and cliche country but he does that style better than just about anyone else. The songwriting is undeniably good. Cheers!

Hey buddy, nice shirt 😉 This song is so damn silly and I kinda love it. For me, this sits on the same shelf in my mind as Electric Callboy. When it comes to country music, I mostly stick to Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Waylon & Shooter Jennings, and Willie. I wouldn’t call myself a modern pop-country fan. But this works. It doesn’t take itself seriously. The tongue is planted firmly in the cheek throughout the whole song. And the lyrics only serve to highlight the wink and nod. This was brilliantly dumb, and I mean that with nothing but appreciation and respect. It takes a great artist to poke fun at their own medium and still do it well and pull it off with effortless proficiency. This is sure to be stuck in my head all day and I’m not complaining. The world can be way too serious and we need things like this to lighten the mood and have a little fun once in a while, don’t we? Now what are the odds we hear a y’allternative track on the new Sleep Token record? Hahaha

Damn y'all! Loved this combination! Not too sure how country is embraced outside of North America but here, in Canada, it's EVERYWHERE! Personally, I'm not a fan. I cringe everytime I hear it. This song, however, was an absolute gem! Loved the switch to heavy rock. I was laughing the whole time! It was so brilliant and original to say the least. I find that metal and hard rock musicians have a great sense of humour when it comes to pop culture. They GET IT! On one hand, there's a bit of mocking in this song but on the other hand, there's still that appreciation of country music because how else would Hardy be able to reproduce it in such an authentic way? This song proves, once again, that there are no limits when it comes to metal and hard rock today. It is no longer stuck in one compartment. So far, I've heard this style combined with EDM, industrial, jazz, funk, and country (which I never thought was possible). Good find and fun reaction!

Yes indeed! I have found a lot of the alternative rock world to be far more open minded and explorative than other genres. There’s a bit of heaviness in all of us. It just needs awakening.

Nope…lost me as soon as he went into the standard, “modern country” format. Can’t go there. I was stuck in a Discount Tire for about 4 hours recently with a country radio station blasting - it was unmitigated torture - every song sounding identical to the one before - every male singer with the same fake hokey accent and the same dead dog, girl left, drinking beers with the buds lyrics. I can do bluegrass any day but, just me, not this. Do some Bluegrass - some Allison Krause and Robert Plant - I’m down for that. 😎. Enjoy! Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🤷🏻‍♂️😀✌🏼

To be fair, and with all due respect, I think you missed the joke. The lyrics are all satire about how all pop country songs sound alike and he’s making fun of how all the songs are about pickup trucks and drinking beer and pretty girls. When they shift into the metal breakdown, it’s there to subvert expectations and drive the punchline home. He’s making fun of the very things you don’t like about this style of music. So while you might not like the sound of it, maybe you can appreciate the humor in it. Think of it as a pop-country Spinal Tap song. And to be clear, I’m not into this style of music either, but I found the joke and the self-awareness to be really entertaining.

It's done as a dig and it's blatenly obvious. He's calling out mainstream country radio and how they expect every country song to be the same about the same shit. He's like look I can write one verse covering everything in every country song ever rhyme it all together in a quintessential catchy twangy country beat and cadence. But Fu*k. That's not what he wants but has to do in order to please the label. Your missing the point.
