I just love watching professionals sit in complete awe of the god on that stage. When they attempt to explain what he does (and do a good job) but just be completely unable to encompass his pure talent. When he goes off the keyboard literally and blows everyones minds is just the best thing to watch. I feel like a proud parent watching him awe people again and again, and just sit here with a fat ass grin on my face as he goes super human. I have no shame spending hours of my day watching these

The voice you heard comes from one naturally gifted but is only possible through years of dedicated training under the supervision of outstanding teachers. His mother is an opera singer, his father a pop star/music producer and he started extensive formal musical training at age 5 on instruments and vocals. He has said that his vocal chords are longer than usual and when the "voice change" happened he didn't lose his high notes but just extended his lower range. As a teen he trained operatically at an arts school but with his range that meant performing as a tenor and a soprano. His tone is so exceptional he was actually part of the female section of the choir when they needed help. He then studied rock, pop and RnB vocal styles in college where he obtained a degree in The Art of Stage Performance/Variety Vocal. He plays seven instruments well including piano, the dombra (Kazakh two string lute) and the drums. His goal is to tastefully combine these vocal techniques, along with those of his native Kazakh heritage, to create his own musical fusion. Dimash said: It's been 20 years since I studied music professionally and dreamed of the big stage. A.Zhubanov Music School, city schoolchildren's palace, children's school "caz", musical college named after A.Zhubanov (classic vocal), Kazakh National University of Arts (specialty - pop, jazz singer, now master of composer) I am very happy to be in service in this field because you know how many people are grateful to you, you feel the love. From my side, know that I am giving you my love and gratitude for each occasion.

Dimash is one of those especially talented and motivated people who think "I've mastered opera, what's next?". So it's on to pop, then RnB, then traditional Kazakh folk then rock etc. Because he can do all these different tones and styles, he tries to figure out how much he can put into a single song because it would be too easy if the whole song was in a single style, right? Then he scouts around for great songs and when he finds ones he likes he doesn't do translations, he has to do them in the original language (12 so far). And what if the song as written in "only" 2 octaves, shouldn't he add in an extra octave or two? What he wants to do would be considered either insane or impossible (or both) but he is Dimash and somehow it makes sense. More than make sense, it is almost always spectacular. But I don't think we'll get too many that imitate him because the training and dedication and talent required to do what he does is so high.

Yes and on top of all of that, he is a perfectionist and pushes himself. He WORKS for everything that he has and he only wants more. I just hope he doesn't push himself too hard or he will find himself joining a very special club called BURNOUT. He can sit where Floor Jansen was sitting while he heals, and hope to whatever deity he believes in that his voice will come back as strong when the nightmare is over. I HOPE this NEVER happens to him, but it COULD if he keeps pushing himself too much for too long before taking breaks or vacation.

When fantastic voice meets a beautiful song. It's an old song very famous in France, very powerful and melancholic. Beautiful, but very sad. This song talk about suicide. Lyrics are like a last letter. The last "S.O.S" just before suicide. And not only lyrics. Everybody notes this vocal range, this transition from the lowest notes to really high notes. The melody is built as a metaphor for a rise, a climb, from the ground to the sky. From sad life to death as liberation. It starts with deepest note (and lyrics mentions words like earth, ground) to finish with very high note (and lyrics mentions words like sky, bird). This song is technically hard. But the lyrics are very emotionally charged for french speakers. This guy has a gift, and he makes an exceptional interpretation. ........................ Pourquoi je vis, pourquoi je meurs ?... Pourquoi je ris, pourquoi je pleurs ? (Why do I live, why do I die ?... Why do I laugh, why do I cry ?) Voici le S.O.S d'un terrien en détresse (Here is the S.O.S of an earthman in distress) J'ai jamais eu les pieds sur terre... J'aimerais mieux être un oiseau... Je suis mal dans ma peau (I never had my feet on the ground... I'd rather be a bird... I don't feel good in my own skin) Je voudrais voir le monde à l'envers... Si jamais c'était plus beau... Plus beau vu d'en haut, d'en haut ! (I'd like to see the world upside down... If it were ever more beautiful... More beautiful from above, from above !) J'ai toujours confondu la vie avec les bandes dessinées (I've always mistaken life with comics) J'ai comme des envies de métamorphose, je sens quelque chose (I have some metamorphosis desires, I feel something) Qui m'attire, qui m'attire, qui m'attire... vers le haut ! (That pulls me, that pulls me, that pulls me... upwards !) Au grand loto de l'univers... J'ai pas tiré le bon numéro... Je suis mal dans ma peau (In this great lottery of the universe... I didn't pull the right number... I don't feel good in my own skin) J'ai pas envie d'être un robot... Métro boulot dodo, whou-ohhh ! (I don't want to be a robot... Work work work, whou-ohhh !) Pourquoi je vis, pourquoi je meurs ?... Pourquoi je ris, pourquoi je pleurs ? (Why do I live, why do I die ?... Why do I laugh, why do I cry ?) Je crois capter des ondes, venues d'un autre monde (I think I'm catching waves, from another world) J'ai jamais eu les pieds sur terre... J'aimerais mieux être un oiseau... Je suis mal dans ma peau (I never had my feet on the ground... I'd rather be a bird... I don't feel good in my own skin) Je voudrais voir le monde à l'envers... J'aimerais mieux être un oiseau... well...you just touched a piece of a mountain :)) DIMASH is quite honestly in a class of his own. He incorporates influences from so many genres/styles and cultures that he is impossible to categorise. He transcends traditional musical norms. His level of professionalism and dedication to his art is incredible. It's easy to forget that he's still only 25, the same age as Justin Bieber, yet displays a sophistication and level of polished performance that is rare in one so young. He has superb confidence, charisma and charm, he's humble and never appears arrogant or insincere. He really is a unique unrivalled talent. If anyone had suggested 20 years ago that a kid from Khazakstan would be an international mega star conquering the world without selling a single CD in America or the UK, the leading pop music markets, it would've been impossible to imagine. The world has changed dramatically over 2 short decades. Music has changed, the rise of KPOP and breaking into US/UK/Europe & all Asian markets is a 21st century phenomenon. That these artists are taken seriously in the US & UK is a significant shift in attitudes. I really believe that Dimash is something new, a truly multi talented, truly international artist like no one before him. He has the potential to become one of the biggest stars of the 21st century.

He is also very humble and since you mentioned the earpiece, as you watch more from him you will see that when he takes it out you can expect something big. In his homeland, Kazakhstan, Dimash, has received so many prizes imaginable ... In China, he was recognized as "The most popular singer in Asia" .. Thanks for your very spirited reactions like everyone else, we are swept away by the magic of Dimash's amazing vocals. What amaze me the most about Dimash beside his flawless transitions, voice colors and wide vocal range is the fusion of music styles he constantly explores. He goes from operatic baritone and "soprano" like Ogni Pietra or Ulisse to rock/pop (even rap) style like Screaming Idol Hits or Show Must Go On (through some serious sad ballads like Late Autumn - perfection-) He has the stage presence of a veteran singer and yet his atittude is fresh as a kid. Whatever! You are absolutely gorgeous Nina!

He has a Vocal Range of more than 6 Octaves. He can sing low as a Baritone and hit D8 (yeah 8!!) higher than a Piano. You have just scratched the Surface..

When asked this summer if his range was 6 octaves Dimash said it was higher but that songs are not about range but about making beautiful songs.
@lisakogelnik65255 жыл бұрын
His shown range so far is A1 - D8 :-) So, it's almost 6 1/2 octaves, and means that he can sing half an octave lower than the lowest notes of the bass range and more than 2 octaves higher than the highest notes of the soprano range :-)

@@lisakogelnik6525 that's just nuts. I love his voice but it overshadowed the song. He needs to write his own story. He needs themes or passions as big as his voice.

Hey Nina. I have watched this reaction possibly 20 times already. I just love your character that shines through your reactions. I wanna comment on something that you commented on which no other reactor has reacted to and that is the amazing string line in the middle if the performance. You commented at 4:16. I am a pianist, but that repeated fast string riff is so exhilarating to me 😍😍😍😍😍

The 11 songs Dimash performed in 2017 for the Chinese show "I Am (a) Singer" are all spectacular, but his work since then is often even more shocking, particularly when he teams up with Igor Krutoy (composer, pianist). He has quite a large body of work available on KZbin now. My favorite is 'Love Is Like a Dream,' where he delivers a crunchy baritone performance followed by a dream-like Soprano bit and then tenor pyrotechnics. It's thrilling; I never tire of hearing it. I hope to enjoy watching your first reaction to this song. Or to any of his performances, really. My other favorites include 'Sinful Passion,' 'Ogni Pietra (Olympico),' 'Passione' (that one is bizarre, but his vocal gymnastics are amazing), and any of his other Singer performances, but especially 'Hello.' Avoid, if you please, his performances for the CBS program 'World's Best,' for two reasons. One, CBS is vicious in enforcing copyrights, you won't enjoy running afoul of those people. Two, CBS viciously cut down his songs to two minutes, in order to make room for the most insipid judge comments I've ever had the displeasure to hear. All of his songs on that program are available in their full glory elsewhere, so you won't be missing anything by avoiding CBS. Cheers!

The one time he didn't perform was ep 11. That makes 13 performances. Like you said, he ALMOST got eliminated doing Uptown Funk on Episode 5 and a lot of people don't like Give Me Love from Episode 14 so I can understand the possibility of people not wanting to count those 2 which would reduce it from 13 to 11. 🎶👱♀️😀❤

I am musician and I got speechless the first time too. I love the way you analyze and breakdown every part of the song... super clear. Since you are classical trained I strongly suggest Ogni Pietra kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpyUcnuDrdZgZsk or Sinful Passion at Sochi. If you want to teach absolute control on high (almost whistle) notes then Opera 2 and Diva Dance at Singer are your best choices. Bottom note I`ve ever heard from him was D2 at Love of Tired Swan and the top one was F6 (beside the famous D8 at Unforgetable Day) If you are into ballads then Late Autumn at Singer is your best choice. Or if you want super strong mix`s then Adagio also at Singer2017. I really hope you dig deep into this singer which I consider the (best) most complete singer alive. Peace!

I agree with everything you said except for your fancam suggestion for Ogni Pietra. A much higher-quality professional recording is composer Igor Krutoy's preferred recording at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpyzhGmqbZmknZY

Agreed. I'd also like to add that his Diva Dance at Bastau is even better. I'd even go so far as to call it better than the original.
