I work on 360 cameras. Those shots are 100% 360 cameras. We call them “little planet” cause it makes it look like a tiny planet, but here they inverted it so the world wraps around the sky. Then they blended the eclipse into that, which, as someone that had worked on inventing this kind of tech, makes me so happy so see it get used for a real production like this.

Those two shots from the 360 cam where the pyros fire up and form a ring of fire around the stage, with the crowd wrapped around the outside - those are amazing! Like album cover material!!! If they ever do a live album!

The sound comes in part from the fuzz, but the main difference here is that Dany is playing a custom shop Strat with humbuckers and a baritone neck, tuned in a perfect fifth lower (A1-D2-G2-C3-E3-A3) and Ale switches to her inferno bass also in drop A.

Dany says: "It's about missing someone and the energy this person gives you. You're drawn into their gravitational pull and brightness - like an automatic sun." The video was put together in one week. They shot it at Tecate Pa’l Norte in Monterrey on March 31st. The video team is led by Beto Ramos, Pau’s drum teacher, and Iván Chávez, recent graduate of the University of Monterrey film school. The team they lead is top notch. Their first major TW video was the Metropolitan concert. Dan Lancaster is listed in the credits as a co-producer of the song, a lyrics contributor and providing keyboards. Dan was a touring keyboardist for Muse.

Dany's new baritone Fender Strat, that and Ale's bass are both in drop A. That's why she has the Inferno colored Specter, instead of the newer blue one. Posted Friday the 5th, the live video was shot the weekend before, less than a week turnaround. I think they wanted it out for the eclipse on Mon the 8th. The shot with the PRS is a video clip from another song.

I think the last 1:20 or so of this song (from the breakdown to the end) is the best thing The Warning have put on record to date. It’s funky, it’s heavy, it’s fierce. I can’t stop listening to it.

❤if you watch again youll notice the drines a few times behind the band and going across the crowd. . The fisheye lens was a great touch. The ladies are powerhouses that dont shy away from incorporating new sounds and techniques. Something sorely missing from the music industry. They have no fear. Nor should the listeners. I think the best Warning comments I have ever heard are Pau needs a setbelt for her drum kit, Ale is so hot that my smoke alarm goes off when she appears on screen, and Dany treats their fans better than my family treats me. These ladies are the best thing to happen to music in ages. ⚡⚡⚡

Howzit going Chris and Sam - so good to see you back. I always look forward to hearing your insights on music I know or heard (I have been checking some of your other bits and pieces out as well, but mainly - I'm here for you know who 😀 ) So yeah - the production is pretty heavy, but Automatic Sun is by far my favorite from QMF. Dany's exploration into more Muse is . . . interesting. And you are right - if they sound the same now as they did (musically) 3-5 years ago - then are they truly not progressing, experimenting and discovering all they can be? BTW - the live version of this is no where near as fuzzed up (instrumentally or vocally) so they still retain who they were (even with the studio version having the identifying 'The Warning' harmonic sound and lyrics). I've seen a couple of fan vids from their European tour and they bang it out gorgeously. As for Ale and Pau - that break is my favorite part of the song. Nothing spectacular, just a 'heartbeat' that fits and sounds so nice. With HYCaD, I was sorta disappointed with the studio version and worried about how it would translate to live (the Pepsi show cancelled that fear) and went from a 'meh' track (60 odd %)(studio version) to a damn good, if not great, track live (90-95%)(and that also allows me to enjoy the studio track even more now). Automatic Sun has not had that effect on me since I've like the sound of it from the get go (this may actually be the 1st studio version track of theirs since QotMS album release that I prefer more than the live version - and by saying that I don't mean that I don't like their live versions from QotMS - I love them just as much but for very different reasons). Automatic Sun is still the basic The Warning formula of a cool guitar riff, catchy verses and chorus, and great vocals, but they're adding new elements it seems on every song from this album. This new elements on this one are the super-low Drop-A tuning and the fuzz effect (like MORE) on the guitar and bass, and that nasty breakdown at the very end (wish that was longer!). It's still The Warning, but newer and fresher. Glad to see your reaction, great job as always. The epic and glorious transition always cracks me up. 🙂

⚡⚡⚡🌒🌓🌔🌚🌖🌗🌘 ⚡⚡⚡Good Morning to you Offset Era, I just wanna tell you something a about why THE WARNING used a Studio Version, I didn't went to Tecate Pa'l Norte concert but some friends of my did and told me it was awesome live, but maybe some how the noise of others venues playing around this show at the sametime due to being a big festival and whit alot of shows, the sound of the other venues songs were some how mixing whit this show, plus maybe the sound of their three drons that were used for the beautiful shots taken on the show, flying close to surrounding them, maybe that's why they preferred overlap the studio version over the live version.🤟🤟🤟 ❤❤

I don't hate the production on the new stuff, but I definitely prefer all of them live. Seems a little curious to me, I don't follow them religiously for every scrap of information so I dunno if they said anything, but I do distinctly remember them specifically trying to capture their live sound on the recordings and being proud about how well they managed that for Error. Wonder why they turned away from that.

Someone else mentioned it previously, but there was a lot of interference coming from other acts that were playing at the same time they were (on different stages), and they didn't want that getting into the mix, so they opted for matching the studio track instead. In the end, it actually turned out really good!😍👍👍

You noticed the sound of the bass. Ale during the shows uses her blue bass, however for this song she switches back to her other bass. During this show she forgot to switch back and I think it was Carlos who came on stage and tapped her on the shoulder to give her her other bass.

I think Ale is using a pick because she is running so much distrotion. The pick helps puts the attack back up front of the note. The initial transient tends to get lost with that much distortion otherwise.

That opening riff in the left channel sounds like it wasn't just played through multiple fuzz boxes but also mic'ed to the point of clipping. Regarding the production the only problems I have with are the distortion on Dany's voice (it's on the studio versions of this AND "Hell You Call A Dream" but NOT used when they play those two live) and the VERY BRICKWALLED LOUDNESS WARS STYLE mastering (ALL CAPS to convey the effect!). There's hardly any dynamic range - both AS and HYCAD measure the same ("DR4") as Loudness Wars disasters like Death Magnetic and Vapor Trails. Some people aren't susceptible to "listener fatigue" but it is a real thing - sorta like colorblindness.
