To see more of the reggae influence on Jinjer, I would highly recommend "Judgement and Punishment" one take vocal performance. It is a fan favourite and you get to see Tatiana's techniques more clearly.

And if you REALLY wanna see the reggae influence, look up Tatiana's band before Jinjer called "The Kodry"

The fact that Tatiana is super introvert outside stage and totally another person on stage is crazy.

Jinjer’s sound engineer Sasha has been with them forever. Their old tour blogs had him in them like an extra member. He does a great job. Cannot remember if you have done them but the mv’s for Home Back and Retrospection are musts. Of course they are great live but the videos add to the story they tell of losing their homes and families to the Russian invasion of Eastern Ukraine in 2014.

They've said he's an equal member for share of money and decision making. And yeah you see him in a lot of bts stuff including Retrospection.

About the live guitar sound, Eugene (bassist) EQs the attack portion of his signal in his Line 6 Helix then runs that through the ENGL amp model in the Helix and they pan it hard opposite of whichever side of the stage Roman (guitarist) is on. They started doing this when their former rhythm guitarist and founding member Dmitry Oksen left the band some years ago to give an illusion of two guitarists or to provide as you said, a bit of stereo imaging to the overall guitar sound. Not only is Eugene playing his own parts but also quite literally following the guitar part for reinforcement as well in a live context

I think Plato put it best when he said, "I didn't expect that.". Jinjer, confusing people since ancient Greece.

Eugene does a lot of tapping on the bass. Vlad on drums has jazz in his background. Where to go next? For another live Pit of Consciousness in Kiev. For a music video try Homeback, it is about the fighting in their homeland in 2014.

Great choice for a follow-up! You really need to see "Judgment & Punishment" (One Take Vocal), "Pit of Consciousness" (Live in Kiev), "On the Top" (Live in Kiev). I know yall mentioned Tati's energy and that she looks like she's having fun, but from a musicians perspective I'd like to hear your feelings on how important it is to have a frontperson who really knows how to hype and interact with a crowd. I feel like Tati is both natural and masterful at engaging the crowd. Thanks again for another fun and insightful reaction! Looking forward to your next one!

The first time I saw them I was standing next to a stack of speakers when they played this and could feel Tati's low growls in every cell of my body. Unforgetable. Cheers! The bass playthrough of this song is great.

So much to listen to just on this one song then she ends it by channeling her inner Gwen Stefani... best metal band ever...

You mentioned scat...The album King of Everything is bookended by Prologue and Beggars Dance. Both songs feature exclusively clean vocals, and both have the same lyrics, consisting of a line taken from every other song on the album, chosen to highlight key lyrical themes of the album. Prologue has kind of a prog rock feel, whereas Beggars Dance has a 110% jazz feel, including a full-on scat section. Both songs are very short, and very cool, and make an excellent double feature. There are no official videos for these songs...there's a fan-made video for Beggars Dance consisting of clips of Tatiana being (unironically) irrestible as well as a bass playthrough, both very entertaining. I recommend combining the Prologue studio track with the Beggars Dance studio track, fan-made video or bass playthrough for a double-feature reaction. These songs get way too little love, so I hope you'll accept my recommendation. Cheers!

Hands down one of the very best live bands on the planet! Tatiana is a captivating front woman and absolutely demands your attention! I am glad you pay attention to the band members which often get overlooked due to Tatiana. Awesome Reaction!
@rofyle Жыл бұрын
They have an actual all jazz number called Beggar's Dance. They also have a full reggae/metal one called Judgment and Punishment. And in Home Back, they add a full on bossa nova section in the break down. They are all four part of a large group of musically gifted friends from Ukraine who are trained and experienced in all musical genres; punk, alt rock, folk, ska, even black metal. Even the drummer himself is a classical pianist, and he wrote most of their last album. Jinjer is one of those rare acts where every member of the band is unusually musically gifted.

Yep, this is a banger, knew you would love it. So many special things to see and listen to on such a high level. She is probably the very best in doing those death growls, male or female. 'Pit of Consiousness' live in Kiev is very brutal too, she going even lower. It is also a superb mega banger in a different style, very dark. A blistering and brilliant world class performance!! Great to see you both enjoying this so much.

Speaking of sound engineers, their live set in Melbourne in March of 2020 might be the greatest performance of a sound engineer in the history of live performances. The entire set sounds like a studio recording. It's absolutely perfectly mixed.

Not only does the outro have jazzy vocals with a reggae beat and riff, it also has a great bluesy guitar solo. Just a phenomenal live performance...actually far superior to the studio track in every way, right down to the feedback, IMO.

Well - you probably still don`t know anything about Jinjer, in comparison...🤣🤣🤣 Surprise is one of their most prominent characteristics: Always (well, almost always anyway) when xou think you know what comes next they simply change it, so - many things still to explore! 😁🤘 And by the way, have you ever heard a bassist strumming chords on the bass guitar? Well, Eugene does in it in "Vortex"! 😁🤘
