I never had formal lessons and started playing before KZbin and back when MTV actually played Music Videos. So i never even knew that was "wrong". And like Lori, until someone pointed it out, and i still do it. I do both actually. I don't hear a different in sound or tone or anything with bending the G down vs up, does anyone else hear a difference???

@@Exsomos it doesn't do a different sound, it's just more practical for a lot of stuff, like double stop bends and some common licks. Also I think it makes more sense to bend the high strings by pulling up and the lower strings by pulling down, but that's just me.

If I can get away with bending down, I will do it every time. My up bending is far inferior to my down bending technique. I can vibrato like crazy with ease when going down, but my vibrato is terrible when bending up. This is pertaining to vibrato at the top of a bend.

@All About Guitars he was burned out and lost inspiration during the pandemic and lockdown, feeling like his whole musical world was boxed into little 30/60 second clip (Instagram) and didn’t feel like it was real music. Also feeling like once he started doing them he had to keep it up, and the pressure of doing something he didn’t want to do made him just out the guitar down all together. Then he went back to family in Brasil and was locked down there. He’s back making a few things but it’s all through other pages/profiles. I hope he puts all of his social media accounts/pages back up!
