it’s so funny, when ever you hear carter talk about drumming he always mentions other drummers. proves how humble he is.

@@jeffroper5943 “Bragging” about gear and bragging about playing are 2 different things pal. He’s legit telling his fans about his gear if he just said “this my snare” i think that’s doing a disservice to the fans

Before I knew of Carter, I knew of his drumming being a DMB fan. I could hear something great and different coming from this guy. Having just taken up drums at a retired age and searching out the many avenues to learn I have come to know Mr. Beauford and why he is one of the best. Lots of wisdom and inventiveness in what he does. Great smile as well.

I loved Carter like 15 years ago when I was starting to really get serious about playing. I really would have loved this video. It seems like it's from the early 2000s so I'm stunned that it isn't until now that I've seen it. Thanks so much for putting this up! There's so many cool tricks and hacks tat he shows on his drumset. I had no idea that he had a way to signal for an equipment issue. I've heard him talk about the double pedal thing on the left foot, but I had no idea that he had that on the right foot as well. What a phenomenal drummer. One of the best on the planet if not the best.

Carter has technical skills, musical skills and his heart and mind respect and love the music firstly. What more could any fellow musician ask for?

Years ago I switched my grip to open hand after watching his instructional video "Under the Table & Drumming. " I kept my drum setup the same as a typical righty. At first it felt so foreign and frustrated me to no end but after I started getting comfortable with it my ambidexterity grew very quickly. Its one of the best decisions I ever made to improve my abilities. To be able to just groove and ride along while toying with the cymbals and hit - hat and being more vocal on toms is so much better. I also don't have to worry about crossing hands over, knocking sticks together. It's just so much better. I also taught all my students to work on this development and they all agreed it was so much more comfortable.

The tour around his kit is awesome and all, and believe me - I wish I'd learned drums in my youth. But the best part of this video is his advice at the end. There's a reason DMB has been around as long as they have - love of the music first and foremost. Everything else just falls into place.
