The late Tim Feerick was their bassist. He really shined on this album and it’s heartbreaking that he’s not getting to see all the love from this album. Andrew is their second guitar, and also the temp lead vocalist on the tour that just ended.

Andrew used to be a touring-only member for guitar and backing vocals, but has been promoted to full time member as second guitar and another vocalist with Tilian. little hesitant to call him "backing vocalist" with all of his work on Jackpot Juicer, he shines a lot more prominently on this record.

KZbin is so much more positive than Twitter, holy crap. It’s so refreshing to see someone acknowledging both the artistry and humanity of these guys. Tilian obviously wants to change, and even though the haters are loud, I think the majority of the fan base wants him to come back after he addresses and evolves from his past behaviors.

He's a good dude, it's a rule of thumb that DGD cannot have a vocalist with God like talent without infecting said vocalist and causing something to happen to them. Always does always will, why even all the way back when Jonny first left I begged Mess to bring in Craig Owens; he's already been down the messy roads so can't anything happen to him while he's in the band, plus he's got the same golden pipes

Jon's voice is truly unique. There are many unclean vocalists out there, but no with the lyrical ability and refined sound that Jon's been getting right for over a decade now. DGD has gone through vocalists before, and I don't know that Tillian is gone forever, but Jon's even more irreplaceable imo.

Have just seen a few songs live with Andrew singing Tilians parts live on KZbin. Hes a really good singer and i love his tone, so dont missunderstand me, but he struggles to hit Tilians notes and often sings an octave down. But i will say that the parts on One mans cringe and for the Jeers when Tilian and Andrew are singing back and forth with eachoter is pure gold, and i would like to see more of that in the future. Depending on Tilian coming back off course.
@erix5184

@@patriksoderlund6428 For The Jeers is my favorite song on the album purely because of Andrew, he's so good. The parts with him and Tillian going back and forth are definitely the high points of the album for me. Tillian's my favorite (full time) DGD singer of the three, but they're all so different, I'd love to hear more songs with an Andrew spin on them.
@natedog8281
@natedog8281 2 жыл бұрын
@@patriksoderlund6428 that and since Andrew sings in a lower register, Will has to tune down his guitar to match Andrew’s range, which then forces Jon to sing in a lower register and he’s been struggling with that as well
@patriksoderlund6428
@patriksoderlund6428 2 жыл бұрын
@@natedog8281 yeah, and as i said i never ment that Andrew is a "worse" singer than Tilian just because he cant sing as high. The discussion was that Tilian has bring the new sound with his high pitch singing and DGD has to take another direction with their sound if Andrew take over lead and Tilian leaves.
@natedog8281
@natedog8281 2 жыл бұрын
@@patriksoderlund6428 I 100% agree and I love Andrew, but yeah he struggles with some of Tilian’s parts, which isn’t vocally viable for him long term, same with Jon being forced to scream lower to match the tuning of the other instruments. They can’t keep performing these songs the way they are now for too much longer. Andrew most likely won’t be the new lead vocalist cuz he’s stated multiple times he has no desire to be the lead vocalist. He doesn’t mind filling in, but he does want to do leads permanently. Ik a lot of people want Kurt back also, but he would also suffer from the same problem and would not be able to perform Tilian’s songs. If they ever get a new vocalist, it would have to be someone who has a similar range as Tilian so each member can perform all their songs effectively. But that’s probably not going to happen cuz Tilian is still technically in the band, just taking a short hiatus

Kurt Travis filled in for a bit and his voice is great as well. Then Jonny came back before being booted again, then Tillian stepped in. Talk about a bunch of guys having human problems is right. If you go down the Jonny rabbit hole his work with Emarosa is excellent as well. @@igotasecret no, Andrew already said he’s not interested being the lead vocalist for DGD, also Andrew struggles with some of the Tilian songs. The band has needed to tune down their guitars to match Andrew’s voice/range for this current tour, which forces Jon to scream in a lower register and he’s been struggling with that live as well. You can clearly hear it in the recent live videos fans have been posting. It’s not vocally feasible for Andrew and Jon to continue on with the tuning they’re currently using for their live shows long term. Same with Kurt, no way Kurt can pull off most of Tilian’s songs with his crazy range. If they ever get a new lead vocalist, it has to be someone who has a similar range as Tilian so the songs can be performed effectively for every member, which won’t be the case cuz Tilian is not kicked out of the band

@@natedog8281 when i saw them last September when tilian was out with CoViD, wells killed it on vox for dgd. He will be the next vocalist for them. Andrew said he didn’t want to be vocalist a year ago, times change and people change.

@@YZFMX256 actually he said he didn’t want to be their lead vocalist less than 6 months ago. Also, you clearly didn’t read my comment thoroughly, playing in lower key is not sustainable for Jon and Andrew has been struggling with some of the Tilian songs on this current tour, it’s very obvious if you’ve watched some of the most recent videos. I’m sure he did sound good at that one show, but that was like for only a week. He’s been filling in for leads for over a month now. And no he won’t be cuz Tilian is still their vocalist, he’s just on a short hiatus

@@natedog8281 tilian is the next Jonny Craig. Funny Jon and Andrew sounded pretty good together on mutual fear. And yeah I’m sure Andrew does have a hard time singing tilians shit, dude sounds like he’s getting his nuts tightened in a vice.

Man you really need to hear atleast one DGD song with Jonny Craig. I know how it can seem impossible to imagine the band without Tilian singing, but believe me them & Jonny really pulled it off, infact some people still prefer the Jonny Era DGD over Tilian, react to just one song!

yes another one! you have to check out Royal Coda with Will Swan and their former vocalist Kurt Travis. I'd suggest "As We Fall Into Deep Waters" or "We Slowly Lose Hope for Things to come" off their latest album.

On your point about Tillian as a vocalist, I implore you to go through the bands discography because this wouldn't be the first time they've had to replace an insanely talented vocalist with a signature sound haha

You should react to either Current Events or Back On Deck from their newest album! Back On Deck has some of my favorite DGD drums and Current Events has a big section towards the end done vocally by the second vocalist Andrew, and his voice is pretty amazing too!

if you like DGD, you might like The Fall Of Troy's song FCPREMIX. they arent as clean or danceable, and they are generally more gritty and fast, but in my opinion they fall in the same category. cleans and harsh vocals doing their own thing in the same song, with wacky guitars and solid drums too. Check them out

Yess. Glad you go to this one. Not the longest song, but such an amazing piece and one of my favorites on the new album next to "For the Jeers" If you want something that Andrew sings on more, that one is your go to. Half the song is him. And yes! You should check out Pre Tillian DGD. Tillian is my favorite, but "Lemon Meringue Tie" is an excellent Jonny song, as well as something like "Uneasy Hearts Weigh the Most"

I honestly think there’s a good chance Tilian will be returning… and by correcting himself he is able to. I love this outfit of a band. He’s truly written some real life shit with them and as a human being has the responsibility to correct his failures and weaknesses. I don’t condone what he did. I’m sure the members of DGD understand that he has to own up to it and change if he were to come back. He already did the first part.
