The Singer can't be compared to other singing shows - it's for famous professional singers and it's considered an honor to be invited. Dimash was at 22 the youngest ever and completely unknown to the Chinese audience. Already this first performance made him an superstar in China overnight. He said in an interview he couldn't understand why the channel send him bodyguards after the airing until he wanted to leave the building and saw the crowd waiting for him.

You said he is a gift from god, thats exactly what his surname Kudaibergen means. Dimash is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan, he started singing lessons and 5 when it was found he has perfect pitch. He is university educated with degrees in classical opera, another in contemporary music, pop and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has just (18th June 2020) completed his Masters specialising in Composition, and receiving his Masters degree with Honours, having achieved the maximum score of 100% and has just started his PhD. His range is over 6 octaves (7 now) but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it. In this performance he was 22 and in a competition for famous professional singers in China he was invited as a wildcard and after this one song was catapulted to stardom and is now a pop superstar in China. He is now also famous in Russia mainly for his neo classical work with Igor Krutoy and many of those works are very operatic. His vocals range from a rich bass baritone through to an extremely high soprano and his whistle register has hit a D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato. He is on a solo world tour tight now and in his concerts he sings for around 3 hours with an eclectic mix of styles. He is from a very musical family both parents and his sister sing, mother is a soprano. Dimash was offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far, but I suspect world domination will soon come his way. He is a multi instrumentalist too and is very competent with 8 instruments but can play just about anything. He is 26 now, and is mostly known as a live performer, he has released a triple platinum album ( platinum in 37 seconds, triple platinum in under an hour). It has been recognised that his high notes are not whistle, but head voice, Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does its spectacular like everything else about him. He has billions of fans worldwide and I am definitely one of them, and he calls us his Dears, as we are all as dear to him as his family, and he means it, he knows who helped to make him famous. He is a softly spoken, polite, elegant and very humble respectful young man. He deserves every bit of the success he is having, he has worked very hard for the past 20 plus years and now his dreams as a young 5 year old are coming true. There is an interview he did for BBC World Service in 2018 where the interviewer showed a drawing he did when he was 5 of him singing on a big stage with microphones, speakers and his beloved music cassettes showing his desire to be where he is now. His recent sellout world tour has been postponed due to the covid-19 epidemic but will restart when its safe to do so. He has concerts lined up in Dusseldorf, Prague and Minsk there will be others. And just to complement: Everyone, all the reactors in Dimash are unanimous in saying that he should not be from this world, they get emotional, shiver and cry when they hear the beauty Dimash's voice. In his penultimate performance in Russia on 12/05/20 with the song "I Miss You" he at one point says: This is happening in parallel universes ... I love many artists such as Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Sohyang, Floor Jansen, Adam Lambert, Brendon Urie, and some high tenor voice artists. But when I hear Dimash, his voice and his presence are too strong. The artistry of his song, lyrics, class, power , versatility, skills are combined in one person. He is still young, 26 years old, and he is NOT at his peak yet! he is still developing, which is awesome. The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to write the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add to the universal declaration of human rights another article (they would become 31) whose wording would be as follows " All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing ". I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, 1 year ago, I met this person and that person is Dimash. Sigh (of satisfaction...) another new Dear for Dimash. Although SOS seems to be the « first step » to Dimash, it has never been my absolute favourite of Dimash’s music. However, I’ve been known to lament as to how whatever I’ve heard most recently by Dimash is my favourite of his. I love his vocal versatility and recommend (for a shmorgasborg of styles): Sinful Passion, Love is Like a Dream (true angel voice!), Ogni Pietra (deep and beautiful), Screaming (the rap version is most fun), Samaltau, Daididau and Across Endless Dimensions... there are more, but these should keep you entertained for a few days. Dimash has resurrected my 78 year old musical Spirit. I spent nearly 60 years as a musical artist, vocal coach, and performer. Dimash and a few other international artists have me inspired. He was a child prodigy who had perfect pitch at age 2, began piano and vocal training at 5, and performing at 6. He has a B.A. in Classical Voice & an M.A. in Contemporary Voice. He blends classical & pop techniques within one song. This has been called "Popera." He has a 6 octave range and over 20 years of intense training. It is a bit shocking at first to wrap your mind around it. He is a truly unique musical phenomenon. I'm glad you also have discovered this great artist.
