We used to do this in the studio backin the 80s. Being able to do it on a computer like this makes it so much easier. We used to duplicate a synth bass track where we'd have 4 voices. Mixed them down to a single track and then lay it down as a single track or two if you're doing stereo. Especially when you do it with an older vintage analog synth.....great sound. I subscribed. Like the videos. Well made and good info.

The ES2 seems like an extremely capable soft synth but I wish they updated the interface because it really puts me off.

I don't know if logic team is ever gonna update the UI of the old instruments. The only one that changed was EXS24, but they totally updated the whole instrument. Ultrabeat, ES2 and sculpture are amazing and I doubt they will update them.

For a free stock synth, ES2 is very capable. I agree though, the UI is incredibly clunky compared to more modern alternatives.

Take that and add a parametric eq with 35-40hz slight boost. I usually put a parametric eq on an effects bus and I use it for kick drums, bass and sometimes on voice. Not a lot. Just enough where you feel that rumble. Sounds great with a synth bass like what you have going. Been recording, playing and engineering since the 8--mumble mumble - dees. (80s). We would do stuff like this all the time.

hey im in the es2 with the classic synth bass but pressing down on my keyboard it only sounds like a one shot for one notes instead of how yours sounds, any tips as to why ours dont sound the same? This is still before changing the settings in the es2

What would happen to the low/sub content being thrown through all that unison? Does it get all spread out and muddy, which you would have to go and fix retroactively? Or is this technique better used to layer a wider, "phatter" sound ontop of a seperate instrument in mono that's holding down the sub frequencies?

You can always add a gain plugin to the bass track and put it on mono setting if you want to be sure there's no left/right differences.

It depends on if the synth has a lot of stereo variation in it. For this example, I press the mono button on my monitor and it sounds identical to how it sounds in stereo, because there's very little left/right variation. The correlation is constantly around +1.
