Some of those guitars are like stepping into a luxurious coffee shop , I love the rich coffee color with streaks of caramel and exotic chocolates and don't forget the cream colored inlays highlighted by mother of pearl and ebony.... yep I'm the guy playing down at the square by the beach.😎

Taylor guitars is an American Treasure in my opinion. And so environmentally conscious if you’ve ever read about their many Initiatives. This years PS14ce looks interesting with iron bark wood locally sourced in SoCal. Something I’ll be investigating further. Beautiful video BTW. Thanks!

GS Mini is the best guitar Taylor produces. Just an incredible instrument at its price point. Also their best seller. Not a popular opinion, but I don't see much ROI in tone and playablity from Taylor guitars beyond the 200 series. Very nice aesthetics, inlays, binding and other labor that drives the price up for those who value those things, but from a tone and playablity stand point they really deliver the same value with the GS Mini line and 100 series on up.... It's nice and expected see them doing something for the 50th anniversary, at first I was expecting some reissue models, but then thought about how there really aren't any historic Taylor's that are sought after. It's very much a brand based on innovations for today for the player looking for something different from tradition.

I like the GS mini but the very short scale makes it very cramped as you move up the neck, I ended up selling mine because that annoyed me.
@rmzzz768 ай бұрын
@@SuperEdge67 Sold mine because I would take frequent trips to beaches along the Gulf coast where the humidity is very high and within 3-4 days the guitar would need a neck reset to get back to the form it should be in... Have since replaced it with a Martin 000-JR. Many trips with the Martin and it's glued-in dove tail has been just fine. Minor truss rod adjustment with string change and good to go... I believe with normal play around the house this would not be an issue for the GS Mini. It is a very good guitar.

I find Taylor guitars beautiful. I love the designs and so on... But tone wise, I find it hard to justify any investment above the the 300 series, imo.

I'm a fan of Rosewood and so the 214ce and 414ce were my favourites tonewise. I don't buy overly expensive guitars and so went with the 214ce.

The 400s are, or were, not too crazyily priced with excellent tone woods. I managed to get the last one in a store discounted for less than I'd have paid for a 300 series

I like the taylor koa guitars for fingerstyle guitar. I don't think they suck like other people here do. I describe them as being very string forward in their sound, which sometimes you want. A martin is very bass forward, to the point where the trebble response isn't even there. Both are way overpriced for their solid wood guitars compared to builders like yamaha which has a different brand view for customers. If you are buying a martin or taylor that's solid wood, you're doing it for the brand and because you have the money. Everyone has their own trade-offs. I will say that taylor makes some of the most beautiful looking guitars in my opinion.
@anthonyb23348 ай бұрын
I’ve tried and played many Taylor guitars from GS to 314 models. I’ve owned 4 different GS mini, academy and 214 models. Out of the box , very easy to play each. But the price for the sound doesn’t work for me. In my opinion I can get better sound for in Martin or Breedlove . . Just my opinion

The acoustic amp design is beautiful with that sylish matching stand. It reminds me of something out of the 40s but who added that horrid 70s looking badge on the front. It looks like a total afterthought.

Hopefully it will better than the expression system and the semi hollow electric guitar. A terrible acoustic sound system and proof that just because you can make a great acoustic, doesn't mean you can make even an average electric.

Great guitars. I have six. Nothing really expensive. I have an old GS-Mini Koa e that I bought used several years ago that has aged into a really nice sounding instrument. I play it almost every day. I am not a professional musician.

For Taylor's 50th Anniversary they launched a new amp company under a different brand, the primary novelty of the Taylor amp being the quality and aesthetic of the cabinet and stand and how well it can blend into room with good interior design... There's never been a piece of guitar gear more lifestyle product oriented than this thing. It's literarily a crossover into the furniture market. I think it's perfect for Taylor, because if you look at their advertising and marketing, you see models on the beach and the street with their Taylor guitars. They are fashion accessories as much, probably more than they are musical instruments. So I think this amp is perfect for their brand. Since its a furniture brand I recommend CIRCA 74 bar stools, sofas, perhaps even pool tables and toilet seats! Would love a CIRCA 74 mahogany toilet seat.
@LairdDavidson8 ай бұрын
Hey, I have a spruce toilet seat. It doesn't quite match the top of my Taylor guitar so I'm a bit bummed out about that.

I sruggle to connect with most Taylor guitars I have played. Keep in mind that my budget doesnt allow for high end models. I gigged with one for awhile and never connevted with it. I seem to gravitate to two other acoustics I own.

I bought a D22e American Dream series and played 2 times,so I messaged Sweetwater to see if they would trade for a Bose pro PA system,paid 1800 for guitar and they didn’t want to make a deal with that Taylor,when I was going to get 3 Items worth 2200. I was so dishearten with them.

The ony two that I liked and MAYBE I would purchase. The 12 string guitar and Master grade but no cutaways-Plesse!! I can't stand Taylor's with cutaway's on 99% of their guitars! And one final, maybe. The maple but no electriconics and a dreadnought!

@johnwashburn37938 ай бұрын
If people buy with their eyes they might like what they see. My question is, why they don't hear what they sound like. I like their people and I wish I could enjoy the product. I don't even care for the neck (or Martin's new neck either). I do own a couple of Martins, among others.
@DeanDocs8 ай бұрын
It's simple, its because people will come to their own conclusions instead of listening to a random guy online who types things out like "S__K". There's a reason why there are hundreds of guitar brands out there. Different strokes for different folks.
@douglasholdenjr.458 ай бұрын
@@DeanDocs I'd never say they suck, cause they don't. Tonewise though, Taylor guitars lack depth to my ears. You are right...to each their own. Your money, buy what you want.
