Martin: King of medium and fancy guitars Gibson: king of small (L-00 LG-2) or big guitars (J's) Guild: king of 12 string That being said, I do love martin's dreadnought, they're classic, but martin 000's or OM are their best guitars IMHO

I bought one of these about six months ago - it sounds INCREDIBLE. It has a great tone - not too jangly for a 12 string. It is incredibly easy to play and I have a hard time putting it down. Sometimes I find myself smiling when I open the case to take it out. When I bought this, I had a friend play this as well as another 12 string (Taylor 562ce) and this one blew the Taylor away - no comparison. My friend is a Taylor guy but he admitted that this was way better in tone and volume. I also find it much easier to bend strings with this model due to the shorter scale. I sold my Guild jumbo 12 string when I got this but maybe someday I'll buy another one - I do miss certain features of that one as well. But this is the best 12 string I've ever played.

I've always considered the J45 to be the greatest interpretation of the sound of a flattop acoustic guitar. And this sounds just like that, in a 12 string. I like it.

No, these only come with the vintage sunburst finish. They sound and play great though. I really enjoy mine.
