S!CK and Six Feet Deep are fantastic live. But wait until you hear Sharks live! I was at the Dublin show last night, their first time in Ireland, and that track was awesome! Ale's Spector bass and Ampeg amp shook the foundations of the venue! Total highlight of the night! Plus, it was only an 800-capacity place. I don't think we'll have the privilege of seeing them in such a small venue again after this year!

IMHO, Sharks is their most powerful song to date. I fell in love with it in the first 10 seconds, so much so that it has become my absolute favorite. But Apologize is great. There are so many things going on in it, some extraordinary changes and dynamics. It's probably their most complete song. The second “but” is that the Truth or Drink game is SO DAMN FUNNY. And the third "but" is that some videos from a private acoustic session (Sofar Sound) have just come out that are also a delight. So considering who we're talking about, the more the merrier; you can't go wrong with the ladies 😁

Escapism and Consume are as good or better than the other songs. Comsume is why the album is PG-13. There are two shows in Mexico City. The venue holds 10,000. The first show sold out in three days. So they added a second. You need to hurry if you plan to go. Pau screamed in Evolve!

You guys are going to love the rest of this album. I flew to the UK and Ireland for three The Warning shows this week. Got to see the first live performance of Sharks in Liverpool. Got to be a part of the crowd in Nottingham when Pau had a fever and asked us to do the scream in EVOLVE. I think that crowd participation might remain part of the show. Jeremy, for fun I took sound level readings last night during EVOLVE in Dublin. They had been going along playing at 104-105dB in the post-chorus hook. When the entire crowd let loose their collective scream, my meter hit 113dB. Holy crap it was loud. One of the things you will find out in Pomona is that the live versions hit so much harder than the album versions. Six Feet Deep is really good on the recording. Live, it just pounds you. Much of the production elements get dropped for just straight forward power. You are going to love it. We would love to see you in Mexico for sure.

Pau screens in "Evolve". "Apologize" has multiple screams, which complicates putting this song in regular rotation in the live set (IMHO). Of all the old videos of The Warning I have seen, the one I think is a jewel is this version of "Narcisista" they played in a club in New York with an invited guest, Jay de La Cueva. While the sound quality is not the best, what is captivating is that you can see the girls really rocking and playing without a script in a fantastic, very raw version. In today’s TW performances, the girls seem to have almost a choreography that is the same in each performance, but in this version, they are just feeling the music and playing for the love of rock, showing how good they are with their instruments. The one I like watching the most is Ale. She is so young but plays incredibly well and has absolute genuine fun. The addition of the extra guitar is fabulous, and the extended playing makes it unique and the best version out there. Hopefully, you will react to it. Below is the link to the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXLbnGOibsyBipYfeature=shared

I wouldn’t want to see that happen. It’s always good to know more about the girls, and I enjoyed your input too, Jeremy. One thought I have is maybe: listen and record your reactions to the entire album, then chop up the individual reactions for release separately. And then, you'll be able to actually listen to all of the tracks on the album. And the album as a whole is SO GOOD, you really, really, really need to be able to hear the whole thing :) You're thinking of Evolve for the scream, by the way. Not 23 or More :)

They still have 3 more albums to record to satisfy their initial contract with Lava. I’m less worried about them burning out mentally per se but physically. Even though they are young and in shape Pau has had hip and shoulder issues and both Dany and Ale have had back issues as well as Ale is has mentioned that all the years of her knee bends are starting to take a toll. They may be minor aches now but if they don’t address the physical stress that comes with touring those minor issues can progress into more substantial issues down the road. Also they tend to get sick, not S!CK, fairly frequently and that may also be the result of being both physically and mentally drained from touring non stop. I believe they try to eat as healthy as they can being on the road but they all are famously partial to their snacks. Pau also doesn’t hardly eat any vegetables and only selected fruits and has problems sleeping on tour especially if they travel directly after a show. I don’t think her brain ever truly shuts off. I agree that their team needs to schedule a week or so at home between tours where they have no band commitments so they can actually decompress and rest.

Hey Guys! You are reading more into MTV Push than you need to. It is self explanatory like the title says. Each month MTV "Pushes" a new artist into the forefront. They do an interview and a couple live music videos of the artist and Push them on all their MTV platforms. Basically free advertising for the band. As far as rock goes, being older than both of you , I have another perspective. Rock was always FUN in the 60s, 70s, 80s. Then grunge came along and turned it to gloom and doom (Don't get me wrong I love grunge too). Then The internet and electronic music allowed every wannabe "musician" had a new platform and an easy way to make music without needing to know how to play an instrument or sing. And that drowned the good music in a sea of crap. Now kids are hearing the good music that their parents play in the car on their way to school and they like it. So, this generation is more open to finally explore things away from the electronic and HipHop scenes and find Rock again. And Bands like The Warning, Plush and others are bringing back that good old fashioned FUN rock! Just my opinion.

@lengould92622 ай бұрын
@musikbyjh Yes, the protest movement of rock is always in support of needed change, which puts it in opposition to "powers that be", ie conservatives. Result is that incumbent power tries to smother it, (Reaganomics 😟, big labels try to drown it with disco, dance 😆, once GOP gave "broadcast" media the right to ignore fact that airwaves are public property then big media started buying radio and tv [Sinclair] and promoting eg pop, country, hiphop, rap mainly anything that di6dn't criticise existing power.) What we older people recognize in The Warning is their solid foundation in 1960/70's protest/criticism lyrics. What i worry about is the potential for the US big media to successfully ignore/discredit them enough to stop or minimize their influence. If they don't "break big" in the US soon, i worry they may be for a life of struggle, or demotion of Pau from writing lyrics.

@@oregonlt3 No apologies needed, we "get" you friend!!! And I completely agree - as a big consumer of reaction videos, we can tell pretty quickly (like you) what we are getting into when watching our colleagues. We are just happy you are sticking with us as we learn and evolve, while just being...well, us. ;-)
