I know you have a lot of subscribers and a lot of people telling you thank you for the quality content but I’ll just be one more of those here! This is my first year ever trapping and thanks to you I have been slaying the beaver! I don’t know anyone else around here that traps so Your tips, tricks and honesty have been so tremendously helpful. I’m an EMT/firefighter In Wisconsin and with all this craziness going on in the world trapping has been my stress reliever. Walking out to my sets and having a big ol’ beaver floating is a pretty great. Thank you for these videos! Seriously it’s been so helpful and I appreciate what you do.

If muskrat isn’t prepared right it’s absolutely terrible lol. My advice is to clean it good and soak it in salt water overnight then cook it up. I cooked one in a stew and it was really good and nothing like I remembered it from a wild game dinner that I had once. I’m gonna give those baited sets a try too!

Years ago after setting for beaver at the end of my line were a dozen or so rat push ups. I set and the next day I pulled a few and one rat was half eaten, what the hell, I got a mink . I reset and used what he left for bate. The next day I headed to rat town . As I made my way something caught my eye at the push up . I sat about 50 ft. away and watched. Then, there it was. A big mink and was he pissed. He chewed through the side of a 3 ft. push up. He tore that house apart. I go over with my stick and smacked him on the nose and its all over with. His teeth were ground down to nubs, not teeth left. My old 4x4 had a canvas and while talking to a farmer friend , that mink came alive and was bouncing off the walls and stopped in the seat beside me. Got my stick and it was all over for good this time. ths

Are there different types of muskrats? I live on the Eastern side of Washington state and the muskrats we have here are at least 1 1/2 the size of the muskrats I see trapped on youtube. I would say they are closer to 2 times the size I see here. Wife and I were kayaking last fall and we saw 4 or 5 that were 12" to 14" body length plus tails. I lived here all my life and have seen them that long for decades. Kayaking in about 18" of super clear water a large muskrat ran under my Wife's boat and scared the shit out of her.Haha. Anyway good video thanks for sharing.
