Handy tip - if your alternator ever fails you can run them to finish your run and get to a workshop....well on all the ones we run in Australia anyway, also if you have flat batteries there is normally still enough to start the little motor and it'll charge you till you can start, there awesome things to have no matter what your doing 👌
@stevenredman15822 жыл бұрын
We had ThermoKing APUs at Walmart. There was an on-off switch on the dash. The APU would fire up when you shut the ignition key off. That was handy when doing drop and hooks at a store or DC on a hot day. Of course, with the TK switch off, it remained off for when you went home or didn't need air conditioning or heat. So I'm sold on APUs and your presentation of Green APU is a great introduction to their product.

I’ve had 2 trucks with Carrier APU and drove for a company with thermo king APU. Both have goods and bad points. A comment was made that if your alternator goes bad you can run with the APU running and continue home. Green APU will not do that it’s alternator isn’t big enough. With my APU running and below zero I have my block heater plugged into the 110v supply and my block temp is at 115 degree temp. And a lack of service centers if you think a flying J has dirty bathrooms you want them to work on your stuff no way.

It's interesting seeing the differences between US and Australian trucks. Here in Aus, we have diesel powered air conditioning units on trucks to keep the sleeper cool overnight rather than for heating. It rarely gets cold enough overnight here to need to run the engine overnight for heating.
