Never hurts to try and learn something new such as welding, I'm teaching my better half how to and she loves it!

Absolutely! I'm really surprised at how much I enjoy it. I have some ideas I'd like to make but I want to practice and get better first. Heck, there's always a grinder and paint if I mess up 🤠👍

I've used all these tricks before. Good stuff. Notes for beginners watching, vertical welds can be hard. Turning the fork frame on its side would let you weld an easier horizontal weld. 👍

Thank you! That was the first vertical weld I've done, and I noticed it was more challenging. Great tip 🤠👍

Great addition Sam. I have a completely different type of pallet forks, but still a lot of space on the ends of the frame to weld some hooks onto...a great excuse to get out the new welder and give it a try....although a cheap welder, I've only used the flux core MIG portion of it...I can do gas MIG as well as ARC and TIG with it as well....I have to get the 220V outlet installed in the shop before I really do too much with it though, it'll run on 110V, but not nearly as well. I also have a plasma cutter I've been trying to find some use for, and that'll come this spring on my car trailer to cut off the stake pockets on the back of it, and weld on some bars for the ramps to hook/hold onto...right now I can't slide the rams close enough together so loading and unloading the tractor I have about 1/2 the wheels hanging of the ramps LOL.

Sounds like you've got a ton of projects to try. I'm really enjoying welding more than I thought I would. I just need to get better at it 🤠👍

Definitely is a great tip and could be added to a bucket as well. Thanks for sharing Sam. Cheers, Mike.

Absolutely, I already have grab hooks on my bucket. They are very handy 🤠👍

Anytime you can do a simple mod to enhance functionality is a real bonus, well done and thanks for sharing Sam!

Thank you Paul! I'm sure I'll find even more uses I haven't even thought of yet 🤠👍

Another great mod for those chain hooks is putting them on the top rail of a tractor bucket. Putting one in the dead center for lifting up objects with the bucket and then one near the edges for holding things in the bucket or to hook to too pull things out like posts or brush.

Definitely agree 100% 🤠👍

Looks like a great addition. I still have about 4 years of warranty left, I've heard any modification could void the warranty... ☹️ thoughts?
@samsdoinstuff7 ай бұрын
Thank you! I would definitely check with your dealership before modifying the tractor itself, but making modifications to an implement should be totally fine 🤠👍
