Nice! I'll check them out. It's great finding good quality stuff. There's still a few things it's like to get. You have any favorite accessories?

AS far as the trash can question goes , I looked at all the solutions that are pricey online and on a whim went to Walmart and found a trashcan for around $5 that fits that space in the rear between the front seats pretty good. I plan to utilize used grocery bags in the trashcan and then store snacks for road trips underneath that bag at the bottom.

I like this approach. It's easy to get caught up with the custom Tesla accessories but in reality, like you found, you can really save some money and still find things that fit by looking around. Good call!

A few necessary accessories… first the bottom skid plates front and back need to be replaced. They work fine for most of the time but if you run over something hard they can puncture and damage your motors. Expensive but necessary. Next, there are vents under the front seat open to the back. Not sure about newer models but with kids in the back, stuff can fall into these vents. Buy the covers for the vents. Next, vent covers for the air intake found above the frunk cover. Leaves and other items can fall into these vents and start to smell if not cleaned out. Covers are available. Next, trunk sill covers are very useful for protecting the original plastic. Next, replacement air filters for the hvac system. Purchase the HEPA and activated charcoal versions as they both good against particulate and biological material. It’s easy to self-install/replace. Next a tire jack is also useful especially getting a flat in the middle of nowhere. Works with tire repair kit and electronic pump. Finally fully recommend PPF for entire car. My 1999 Model 3 looks brand new. Only drawback must hand wash. Recommend biodegradable waterless washing solution. No need for constant ceramic coating. It provides a physical barrier from damaging your paint.

Bumper grill are the most useful, they stop snow and leaves from getting to vents where flaps control airflow to heat pump. If the flaps get stuck, it changes the normal function of the car and may on of the reasons which cause the compressor/valve of the heat pump to fail and that costs thousands (around 3000€) to fix.. as the crumbles of bearings spread with coolant liquid to all through the heating system and batteries etc... And if you are out of warranty you pay for parts and cleaning of the system. A real problem in snowy areas in cold climates in winter, hundreds of cars are broken in Scandinavia alone, who knows how many in Canada? And Tesla washes hands from that design failure, and some people are in for 4th failure within a year and they still are within 80t km warranty so they are selling their cars cheap to get rid of car before warranty is over.

Great video man. We've got most of this stuff and more. For the model Y PPF to protect the rear doors is an absolute must as are front mudflaps. We bought PPF for the front and mirrors but didn't get it on the doors, huge mistake, paint is trashed on the back of the rear doors after 1 year. Ceramic tint is a must have where we are too, it's just too damn hot in the car without it from Spring through Fall. I wish that I'd got the roof done too (all other glass is done, even windshield), the roof supposedly comes with ceramic tint (other tints are just darkening) but wish it had more. We'll put up the glass roof cover in the Spring and leave it until Fall but wonder if we wouldn't need it if we'd gotten the roof done. On the Xbox controllers - try connecting to a PC - get the Xbox accessory app and force firmware updates on them (must be wired to PC). Worth a shot I think, have tons of connectivity issues with them on PC, always work perfect on the Xbox - the forced firmware update on the PC always fixes it.

Really interesting about the PPF and tint, thanks for chiming in 👊 Yeah, I tried rolling back the bluetooth on almost all (4) of my xbox controllers (had to get PC app) trying to make them work and it surprisingly didn't work. Maybe they are too new (got them earlier this year from Bestbuy). Same with the joy-con/generic bluetooth controllers. I was surprised I didn't have any luck there.
@therealjoejennings10 күн бұрын
@@TheSAHDLife Well that's a bummer about the controllers. I was able to find super cheap PPF kits from aliexpress for my doors, domestic stuff was relatively expensive. I've bought it but haven't gotten around to putting on yet.

Hehe well I think if you want to buy something that they sell you will be happy with the quality. I was really trying to imply that there are cheaper options out there depending on what you're buying so you might want to look elsewhere.... But I feel like there are a few higher end companies that all sell really good stuff And if you can afford it it's probably worth buying. I'm pretty frugal myself so like saving money where I can.

I have watched a lot of these videos, and this is the first time i have seen someone mention having tire repair kits and feeling "invincible" with your new car. I just picked up my brand new Highland Model 3 this past weekend. Within 6 hours of having it home, i had a 2 inch wide piece of metal in my tire. I had to shell out the money to replace the tire as it wasn't salvageable. In my case, it would not have helped to have the repair kit, but trust me. Your car is not invincible off of the lot. 😅 I didn't even have 125 miles on the odometer yet.
@TheSAHDLife9 күн бұрын
Aww I am so sorry to hear that. What a bummer :( That really takes the wind out of the sails on day one, but hopefully now that you're all fixed up you are back to being super happy with the car.... I'm assuming you are because I am still super happy with mine :)

Dark colored car, don’t do circles when you are washing it. Over time you will add micro scratches which will start to show after time, just move in straight lines. Also, 100% get the windows tinted with a good quality ceramic tint. It will help reduce the heat in the cabin a lot, it’s almost a necessity with EVs. I can’t stand not having ceramic tint, don’t cheep out on it!
@TheSAHDLife10 күн бұрын
Great advice, thanks! I haven't priced out tint before... is a good job $500-1000 kind of thing you think? I have no idea.

@@TheSAHDLife I just had my 2024 Model Y Performance tinted. I had 20% put all around, and 75% put on the windshield. It was $700 bucks in San Diego. Ceramic tint makes a HUGE difference in heat coming into the car.
