Great video. I have been using a torch for over 60 years, and just switched to a Cobra torch for cutting metal up to 1/2 inch. It uses 2 tips, one for sheet metal, and another for anything over 1/4 inch. It makes a super clean cut, and now that I am used to the pistol grip, I love it. I also find that it is better than my other torches for welding sheet metal. Subscribed.

Mine had the same hard or rough spots in it. I called them and they sent me a new unit. Really good customer support from my experience. I also found that on plate that isn't flat it would walk around. I ended up removing some of the middle magnet stand offs on warped plate to help that.
@thebruteforce13 жыл бұрын
Good way to keep magnets clean, is to put a piece of painters or masking tape on them. When that gets full of grinding dust or whatever, just replace the tape with a new piece of tape. That is what I do with my magnetic trouble light. Works like a charm!

As far as strikers go you’re right about the little round head or bucket strikers, THOSE SUCK! the suck the mad meat. As for the little sparky striker thingy, those also smoke filthy hogs. The best striker is the 3 flint triangle head strikers! Never loose flints, easy to change, and NO if flint get wet they WILL still work! Open the oxygen side on your torch handle and blow out the bowl and flint with the oxy paddle! EASY! we cut in every weather condition imaginable and NEVER have striking issues. Rather we’re demo cutting with a #4 tip or clean cutting for a customer with a 0 tip they ALWAYS work. Cheers! From our steel yard where all we do is steel!...and aluminum...ok and stainless...and brass....ok and drill bits and consumables and cutting oil and gussets and base plates and butt hinges and piano hinges and bullet hinges and plastic caps and zero rust paint and gauge plates and......🙂

The guiding rail is a must if you are cutting 100 meters of thick steel daily. I made one on the ship dismantle yard i was working some years ago. Specially if you are cutting vertical thick steel sheets like on commercial ships. It will do the work for you without effort. But mine the torch itself was mounted on it and was 3 meters long . Non magnifique just L steel bars attach with 3 bolts. It keeps equal distance between the tip and the steel all the time. It is very to build your own one than buying aluminum railing that bends easily and breaks

Can we get some more pics of that homemade circle burner? This makes me miss running a torch. Some POS broke in to my garage and stole my tanks. I looked in to getting another set and a plasma cutter was way cheaper. I am just an idiot homegamer so I can get by with a cheap plasma. There's just somthing about running a torch however. I have an old Victor set up I like. Only torch I have ran so I have nothing to compare it to. Sorry for writing a book. Great vid and I will check out the rest of your channel.

With the track torch and it catching I found any little bit in the teeth and it'll grab. So I blow mine out before and or after and it works flawlessly.

With the track torch its the twisting action since you are pressing from 1 side. further out the bar, the greater the torque.

How good a man can cut in the field depends on the man. A piece of flat bar with some clamps.

@Classic Work - As for the torch that you use, is that a baby size Victor torch. Looks like it would be easier to handle in certain situations.
@EEJester15863 жыл бұрын
It’s a fire power it’s a knock off of a Victor. That’s the 250 size torch which is in between a small one and a big one. Yes i’d say it’s one of the more universal ones.
@1978garfield Жыл бұрын
@@EEJester1586 I wouldn't call Firepower a knockoff. They were owned by Victor's parent company. At least back in the day they were made at the same factory as the Victors. Now they may be imports I don't know.
@EEJester1586 Жыл бұрын
@@1978garfield I gotcha I didn’t know that. I’ll have look at the box and see where it is made. I know they don’t act like a cheap torch so maybe they still are a Victor.

Why is that? Grill igniters use the same principal and they light grills. That’s really strange.

@hayatel2557 Жыл бұрын
This is not the proper way to cut a circle with a torch because the torch always burn through the inside diameter. You should add 2 to 3 mm to the wanted diameter and cut on the outside not on the traced circle then polish, grind or sand to reach exact diameter wanted.

I sure do like them quick connects though I got a 200 ft real and there's nowhere I can't go with that man most job sites are work I'm a minimum of 100 ft average is 175 feet from the truck you can pop that torch head out there and real those hoses in

Someone told me they don’t work on propane. I haven’t tried it yet. I guess I need to. I forget a lot of people still use propane to cut with. I’ve had a few of those strikers that work better than others one I’ve never had any trouble with other ones I have to beat them around and move the ground.

Yeah that scorpion thing I don't like about it is the same reason I don't like him goofy-ass curve o mark is the slop in the pivot for the torch tip you'll have to draw a straight line especially if you're cutting something you need to be right and the curv-o-mark the same because of the slop I can freehand it better I still got to do the full layout
