To all guys who complaint on a lot of stick-tugging and horrible controls. Don’t forget that this is late 50-s - early 60-s design of a strategic air-lifter for the Soviet Airborne Troops. This was not designated for the today's pampered civilian pilots who do not know how to fly a plane without a computerized autopilot. It was a job for the real men.

Mishef Bet they have computers on board nowadays because no company wants to loose their airplanes due to failure. Still these airoplanes are not easy to fly-the already ecperienced pilots training on the biggest antonov transporter takes years till they are allowed to fly these air giants as a captain. Was anyone else tilting their head around, trying to steer the airplane? The reason for all the control movement is that this is a big, heavy airplane, with manual controls, and it takes large control inputs to get the airplane to respond.

Thank you for sharing this video. One can note, that the captain is making numerous adjustments all the while, and that is, I guess, a main principle: "It is better to make many small adjustments, than fewer big ones." - especially when on short final.
