Those oversized Rolls-Royce engine nacelles make the Citation X look like some something out of a Star Wars movie. So futuristic and so beautiful, especially from the dead-on frontal view 1:00. Thanks for the great video.

Buying a jet isn't the issue. Its maintenance and running fees that quickly add up to almost 50% of the cost with in a year. Particularly if you purchased the jet second hand. I'll spare you the details but I learned this hard way. I barely made it out. Breaking even for me was like winning the lottery. When it was all said and done. I was never happier to pay for first class tickets.
@Elucidator-6 жыл бұрын
What costs come to mind in such cases? There are mandatory checks if I recall correctly, that differ in intensity, but what are the more expensive things to deal with? Looking forward to know more.
@herranton6 жыл бұрын
If anyone could break even while owning a jet everyone would do it. It's going to be expensive. I don't think that they hide this fact. I'm sure if you had called up a management company, they could have given you pretty exact numbers for the cost per hour to operate pretty much anything from a phenom 300 up to a 737BBJ.
@aky198320016 жыл бұрын
@@Elucidator- You can google this stuff buddy, and they give you an exact break down. But a 1 million dollar plane can easily coast 500,000k in yearly fees between fuel, housing, repairs, up-cost, pilot salories, airport fees and depreciation. ( yes depreciation is a real huge factor that's always taken into account as part of the whole fee) But ill briefly summarize my experience I don't own a jet so I don't know the details,I know landing in certain airports cost my company a small fortune. We had to pay by weight, hour, storage, and sometimes late fees. Aiprots like JFK and Laguardia raped them in NYC and that was they needed to be, I don't know why couldn't use the other small one but they didn't. you also have operating cost, pilot cost. The jet they used was a manditory 2 pilot operation, not a single, they also had. But I have a general idea when I did work in a company that owned a jet and it was literally like taking money by the shovels and dumping it down the drain. When you own these things your objective is to try to make sure your business is capable of writing off this jet and it's expenses.
@aky198320016 жыл бұрын
@@herranton Pretty much. There are a few way to really bypass some spending like getting a single operation jet, having your own hanger, knowing where to get fuel, having a good mechanic, doing maintenance before they become repairs. But even then, I don't see how I can justify owning a jet, like where am I going to go for personal travel that's going to warrant my owning one. These people see these rich folks owning it, not knowing that they're ALL SOME WHO WRITTEN OFF MAY NOT BE fully, but a great big chunk. Ownging a jet is a headache, and a loosing battle.
@Elucidator-6 жыл бұрын
@@aky19832001 Interesting. I did think about housing and airport fees, but those figures appear to be rather opague and difficult to find. In the case of certain small jets (or even very light jets) pilot cost can of course be mitigated if the owner of the company (or someone else in the compnay) flies the aircraft. Depreciation obviously wont cost you money now (and therefore do not affect the operational cashflow) but it still hurts regardless. I'll Google on a bit to see what I can find. Thanks for your response again.
