I have never seen caned fish with a real piece of fruit in it. Just flavor added to it. The amount of sugar was over the top. That is something I would not even use. Glad your coffee was good. On to part two !

Hi Mick, I hope your new year is going well. :) I have to know if it was only me that read the tin of sardines as "stinky" lol. They certainly like their sugar over in Eastern Europe! I'm not a huge fan of sardines, but I can eat them if I have to, although I've never tried them with lemon, I might like those. Considering the rat was 2½ years out of date I'm very surprised that the crispbreads were still edible. It will be interesting to see if the mains held up. Looking forward to seeing part 2. Great review! :)

Hi Christine...Thanks for watching and commenting....LOL...Yes, the sardines do read as "Stinky".... I didn't notice!...well spotted....but now I know, that's all I see when looking at them...LOL. The crispbreads were weird in that they still had crunch when biting, but upon chewing, felt soft and damp?...a strange sensation.....Hope you are having a good start to the year too?...ATB...Mick

Went to dinner last night with friends and had a NY Strip steak that came with a lemon wedge which I never seen before. Squeezed it on and it was great.

I do always try and be objective about new items and this proves why. I would now buy them (if found in any supermarkets)....they were that good! Sounds just like your Steak!... that's a new one on me too, but worth a try with the sound of it!...ATB...Mick

I have a similar and same age package on the shelf, but BDP II. It's good that you tested it first to see if it's still edible, so maybe I'll dare to taste my own.

I’d like to try those sardines. I always chucked the meat paste from time expired uk rations. Everything else is fine. Got biscuits from before 2000.

They did taste far better than I imagined and would definitely buy them from the shops if I could find them. I always worry about outdated meat more than any other component in a ration. Certainly need to use all of your senses and trust your instincts if unsure....ATB...Mick

Hi...Thanks for watching and commenting...Luckily, I have not yet been sick. I trust my senses and feelings when trying older rations. The only time I wasn't sure was about 3 years ago. I tried A US 1978 C ration and the meat had a green edge to it....I tried a little from the better coloured middle, and that tasted OK, but I still didn't try anymore!...lol ..🤢...ATB...Mick
