Hi. Im viewing from New Zealand. You have some nice pieces there. The wooden totem piece is very similar to our Maori culture. The Maori wood carving. The Maori are our indigenous people. I like Art Nouveau and Art Deco . I had some Art Deco vases years ago but I sold them. I don't own anything at present. From Carl .

George, I love the Centaur. I spent part of a summer in 'The Land of Centaurs' a few decades ago in Volos Greece on Mount Pelion. The home where I stayed was halfway up the mountain overlooking the Aegean sea. A trip that remains dear in my heart. I have a small sculpture of a Centaur to remind me of my trip as well as some black pottery pieces from Greece.

Norman Bel Geddes!! Woop woop woop! If I could find a way to display more things on a wall instead on a flat surface, I would have the room to display that camera on my Norman Bel Geddes dresser. (Funny story I had NO IDEA this dresser was by someone that important. My mom knew this family that needed to clear out a lot of stuff out of a family members house who had passed about 13 years ago and on a random day this dresser is getting hauled into my room out of nowhere. So I was kinda mad about it since I wasn’t informed ahead of time. 😅 But I chose the dark brown one with the brass hardware and she had a light colored one with silver/chrome toned handles. I was thinking about painting it a year ago, typed in its description because I wanted to know what it was before possibly destroying it and was *floored* when I saw how much money it was selling for. I then went down a rabbit hole and watched Futurama at the 1930’s world fair and everything. When I finally went to look at my moms dresser, hers has the actual mid-century metal-like label on it still. I told her all about it and be careful not to dent it. I mean, I used to curse at this dresser *because* it was metal, and NOT a solid dark wood furniture piece. Unlike my other furniture pieces that’s from my grandfather/great-grandfathers time. But now I shamefully respect it. I’m still always researching my other wood furniture pieces though. I got obsessed wanting to know their origin stories.) Haha and in my ephemera box is some old Krylon ads I cut out from some damaged magazines that belonged to my grandfather. He had a bunch of how to fix televisions, radios, etc reading material. And they’re old! So the ad graphics are beautiful. Sparse, a lot of words mostly throughout the mags, but beautiful when they are there.

Good evening, George. The cameo with the raw pearl is really nice. I like the Santini statuette. For some reason 🤨, I actually really like the yawning centaur 😂. I'm not usually a fan, at all, of Lladro, but I do like that one. Uhhh...those mini lamps...like I don't have enough already 🙃 Lots of really neat items!
@TheAntiqueNomad7 ай бұрын
I agree about the Lladro, I respect it but I usually find it too literal for my taste...but the centaur is just unusual enough! I knew you would notice the mini lamps, they aren't unusual but I also never see them for sale any more. I'm glad you enjoyed seeing it all!

Hi George Your Paint-by-numbers Lighthouse is the Portland Head Lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth Maine I took many pictures of that lighthouse and it is forceful. Also, here's a bit of trivia for you, the state of Michigan has the most lighthouses in our country. Even beats out Florida. I might take a drive and see you at your upcoming Marshall show.
