He's been training for the last couple of months (since September?) for a chess boxing match in the US. His training has definitely gone well. I think this was shot just before he left Japan for Canada (Sharmeleon's (Sharla's) vlogmas vlog noted they were in this area for a video before they were leaving Japan). Then he'll be off to LA, if not already there.

If you are going to eat takoyaki and don't want to burn your mouth, either waiti a few minutes for it to cool down, or at least poke into it and let the steam release for about 30 seconds. It goes a long way. Or if you are in Osaka and you prefer the salted versions, you can also roll it in some yogurt for a coating that cools it down quickly and give a nice sweet counter taste to work with.

My first photo in Japan after leaving Kansai airport was of takoyaki when we were stopping at one of those huge rest stops with a food court. I didn't know what they were called and showed the photo and said "Kore, onegaishimasu" (thank you Greg of Life Where I'm From for that tip). They were pure lava, and after cooling off for a few minutes they were hot balls of pure goodness.

Visited Japan in 2019 and stayed right off the park in Ueno. I think Ueno is a little bit of a unknown gem. Lots of museums. One stop north of the big Tokyo train station.
