Pipe Master Charles Canning started the performance and then the rest of the band joined him out of the audience in different stages. At the end of the song "The Green Hills of Tyrol" the complete band are playing. The Drums and Pipes bands of the CTH and CGA joined together on Day of Reconciliation (16/12/2015) at the Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa to entertain the crowd with their beautiful performance.

I'm fourth generation Kiwi, & I love anything Scottish..I'm derived from an ancient clan origin's of Norsemen who settled & ruled the harsh Islands of the outter Hebrides in the North sea as far back as the 9th century, occupied for 300yrs.. & by the look of my great grandfather's Brit navy portrait photo, his eyes, facial features etc. We're identical in bulk...His mainland clansmen descendants who left the isles with wealth in their pockets, blood on their hands, & murder in their hearts. They were a ruthless underhanded bunch who is said to numbered as a force of 30 men upwards.. They'd spent years tricking Spanish & Portuguese merchants sailors into mourning their ships on the Jagged underwater rocks, then viciously beating some of the survivor's head in as they emerged exhausted.. Some they took as slaves, murdered any children, kept the females for amusement & trophies..Spanish & Portuguese gold & silver coins was top currency so off they went to plunder & murder the unsuspecting women & children of the absent mainland clansmen & the highlands clansmen who were most likely away feuding with one another..that particular off break of my ancestors were rumored to be more inherently akin to our Noersman Germanic lineage.. Which might explain their unwavering thirst for innocence blood.

Good bagpipe music is hauntingly beautiful, also that band was more 'Diverse' than a new episode of Dr Who which was great because they were all there doing something they loved and not just because they ticked a box. My best wishes and thanks to all of them Edit - For those of you that don't know "Three Scotsmen and a bagpipe" was the official definition of a rebellion during the difficult times we shared with our northern neighbors.

Listening to bagpipes could turn me into an axe-murderer ... unless I am in Scotland. Then they are BRILLIANT! Drummers, anywhere in the world, are always BRILLIANT!!!!!!

I used to do security in Glasgow a few years back, was a medieval night in an old church, halfway through night a lone piper played upstairs in top half of the hall, while everyone looked at the piper the rest of the band came out behind everyone,as soon as all the pipes and drums played the hall went bonkers, just an amazing part of the night🙏

As an Afrikaner I always had great respect for the Scots And their pipe bands that drove our family to, or close to tears! My Poem from my book- The Blades are high the Lances strait, Where they sit and wait, Sharp and clear the bugle blow, "Charge down the foe", When they gallop back, we ask who they are, "That is the Scottish of the Third Hussar" Poem by Gert van Niekerk from my book in process 'Kaapse Rebel-Anglo Boere Oorlog'.
