This is my perspective as someone who worked in wireless and works in wired communications. 1. If you live in the city get a fiber to the home(ftth) service available be it PDLT, Converge, Globe etc then have a mobile internet as back up (DITO preferred since mura). 2. If you live in areas with no FTTH and mobile internet option get Starlink. 3. If money is no object Get all. 4. If you travel a lot for work (basically live in your car) get Starlink. 5. If you live in the middle of the city surrounded by buildings, no clear visibility to the sky, FTTH is unreliable andcell service sucks then you're fucked.

Im speaking on a point of view of a starlink user since I started using it last March 4 after it was delivered by DHL. Download speed ranges from 170 to 265mbps. Upload speed is 15 to 25mbps. In comparison to my current service provider with 50mbps starlink is handsdown the winner. As far as outage is concerned, my current provider have frequent interruptions although it’s a fiber connection so i tend to disagree with some of the information in this video.

My discussion is based on generalization. Good your Starlink speed is a little faster than what is advertised. The speed test i've shown in this video is from my Converge Fiber subscription in my house. Thanks.

Thank you for this advisory. I think the key advantage Starlink has is you are not bound to a year-long contract. It is useful for holiday homes kasi you won't pay ₱20K per year for internet that you only use for maybe at most a month.

Spacex is at the cutting edge of technology and the development of starlink never stops. The latest version of their starlink is version 2 mini being loft by their workhorse falcon 9 reusable 1st stage. At current constellation of more than 4000 satellite no one can ever compete with spacex starlink. As the satellite continue to increase in number the latency will improve as well as speed. The version 2 have laser connectivity & will not require any ground station. The target number of satellite is 40,000 which is a lot & will take several years to complete. But once their new starship finished the test stage and will be able to loft about 240 starlink satellite per launch then there will be significant change. The next service that elon musk is targeting is voice transmission via starlink. It will be possible once the full size version 2 is put to low earth orbit. It also has 4x the current capacity of version 1.5. Bright things ahead

In my first video two years ago, when Starlink was still new, i've mentioned that Starlink promised to lower latency down to 16-19ms from 20-40ms at that time. Today, the published latency is 25-50ms. I'm sure Stalink is improving this.

Thanks for this information Sir. Yes po, tama po kaya that there are several things to consider prior to subscribe or take Starlink as your ISP due to some reason as you mentioned. As a starlink user for quiet some time now, basically starlink had good enough in providing wireless internet satellite based for remote area like dito sa amin where as FTTH is quiet expensive and have a binding contract. Since ang main goal ni Starlink is to provide better internet connection for remote and rural areas, then that was their plus point as long as new subscriber can afford the starter kit. Of course, when we compare it with FTTH ISP available in the town, and big cities, that's advantage points of fixed line. (Consistency and minimal disruption / obstruction). For conclusion: Whether we go with STARLINK or Existing Local ISP FTTH, it depends to user's preferences and budget.

As a new user of starlink, I've never experienced those things mentioned in this video maybe the other guys had it but as for my personal experience starlink is way better than the pldt and globe I had before. I just installed the dish on my roof and the signal is ok and the met speed is awesome even though I'm living in a subdivision, a crowded one just to say... Airplane interference? Nah... A passing plane will not be able to block ur signal to a point that you will notice it because it fly so fast over your location... Unless that plane lands on top of your dish it may block it out 😂 just kidding. But starlink net speed is way better than those we had before as per experience

Mali kasi ang pagkakaintindi ng mga tao kung para sa ano tlg ang main purpose ni starlink, kung pupunta ka sa page ni starlink nakasabi doon na "low-latency broadband internet in remote and rural locations across the globe", broadband for sure it is not wired while offering low-latency internet in I will quote again "remote and rural locations" ibig sabihin" areas that are located outside towns and cities or countryside, now ang dapat ecompare na internet dapat kay starlink is yung internet data provided by telcos here in PH na nasa "remote and rural locations" which I am sure 100% starlink will best. Sino naman kasi ang nasa tamang pag-iisip na kukuha ng broadband internet in cities provided merong wired connection. In conclusion Starlink best the telcos here in PH in comparison with the broadband data internet they provides while in remote and rural areas.

From what I read from another vlogger, it will only work on the address you’re suppose to install it when you placed your starlink order because it has a location code. So if you order it Manila as your base but planning to use it in the province it will not work and vice versa because the location codes are different.

When it comes to cost, people has no other choice but subscribe to prepaid data plans. Take for example, sa Kalayaan island, merong Smart LTE. People in rural areas, in general, simply can not afford Starlink. The government can have a Starlink installation in remote areas but not for individual use. So, business-wise, traditional internet service still to be patronized by poor people. Tanggapin natin ang katotohanan.

UPDATE: I just found out there's a 'Bypass Mode' which can be enabled via the Starlink app. Using the mode will completely disable the built-in Starlink Wifi router functionality. But again, you need the ethernet adapter to use the Bypass Mode and use third-party router. Then, you need manual factory reset to use the Bypass Mode. To complicate further, Starlink does not guarantee their app will work with other routers. Starlink has no Wifi router administrator portal. Everything should be configured on the app. I hope this info helps.

Obviously you are just speaking by relying thru what you read, not by experiencing it. Sana bago ka nagdadakdak dyan bumili ka muna ng unit hindi yung one sided ka.

Obviously, you lack comprehension. This video is a guide for those who are planning to subscribe to Starlink so that they could weigh in. This video was made when everyone in the PH has yet to receive their kit.

it should work the same. since these satellites are not being blocked by mountains.. you only need to see where these satellites are passing by and see their coverage.

in theory, you should have lesser latency, because its closer to the satellite/orbit🤣 (yeah i know im ignoring a lot of how your data is being sent:received)

The presentation was based on your readings and not on your actual experience. Sana nag google na lang ako. Your discussion is very frustrating and unreliable. I was waiting for your actual use. Nothing is better than experience.

Iam feeling this video is not here to sell Starlink. The internet and cell service suppliers that are in the Philippines and have been here for years are going to have to finally upgrade the systems they have or lots of customers will walk away, and when you hear people who has been in the Philippines for years having the same complaints today that they had many years ago!!!!!!! . I have talked to many foreigners who have Starlink in the Philippines that was brought with them from back home and have nothing but good things to say . No dropping ,plenty of Mbps ,not effected with brownouts if you have a generator or solar energy source making it great for catastrophes like Odette so no need to wait for the local carriers to get back up and running. The technologies of Starlink as a whole is eons ahead of any provider of its kind. As I said its time for these companies who provide this type of service in the Philippines to improve or be in a bad spot . They have taken advantage of customers long enough and now its time to pay up.

@@relaxbecalm5574 That's baseless to say 'most of it' because none of the claims in this video is false. It's the truth. It gives people leeway to weigh in whether to suscribe to Starlink now or later or never.
