Definitely important to lookout for the community. A stranger in our community lost everything in a fire. He lost his entire Tau army and all hobby materials. I had a tau combat patrol I was gonna use for kill team but threw it his way instead.

Not exactly the same because they’re new too but part of my local friend group Thats getting me in. A couple painted me An Ursula Creed and Primaris Psyker for Christmas. Super cool and still my only painted models

I started my mordians about a decade back when a friend offered to trade me one for one for the plastic cadians I had. I remember he refused to take any cash for them and insisted on a like for like trade. It was about 100 infantry plus special and heavy weapons. It's my second best ever warhammer trade, the best being my Steel Legion, which I got in exchange for a Tau army I had bought for $20 off my brother.

I did, however, pay it forward, I ended up giving my cousin who just started the hobby a pretty substantial marine army for free (2x Indomitus, 1x Dark Imperium plus extras)

Getting into 40K now as an old man because I got an invite at the local game store.

Call me crazy but if GW dropped their prices a little and had some kids deals so you could take your son into a GW shop and get them to choose a faction they could really get the next generation into it. At this stage I worry about my kids being able to afford the basics let alone 3 grands worth of plastic.
