Great reaction and welcome to the Ren Rabbit hole. I am 70+ years old and this man is the artist I have been waiting for all my life. Sadly as of a few days ago, during his last video shoot Ren ended up in A&E due to problems with his autoimmunity. His accounts will be temporarily managed by his team of friends while he is resting and in recovery. Ren posted on his community page that he has had a relapse of the lyme disease co-infection bartonella. The symptoms that come with this are swollen lymph nodes, fever, headache, fatigue, burning soles, poor appetite, shin pain, depression, anxiety, panic attacks. Hallucinations, strokes and seizures are possible but not routine. He will have to head back to Canada for another long session of intensive treatment. He is in 1.6 million subscriber's prayers right now. Subbed for your journey. Kia kaha from NZ. Ren's community posts here: www.youtube.com/@RenMakesMusic/community

I have physical and mental illness and Ren makes me feel so happy. He has helped so many people and his followers are all united in sending love and support to Ren for the next stage of his journey. Ren's illness really sucks. My son and I know because my son has Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, the thing Ren got from the Lyme Disease. My son got it at 18 from Glandular Fever. I think in years to come, we'll find out the some people with "Long Covid" have MCAS. My son is 45 now. We don't have any treatment for it here in Australia. But we have Ren.

Ren would be thrilled with the Kubrick reference. His favorite director. You wouldn't be the first to cry. Ren hyper focuses on music. Self taught multi instrumentalist. Ren practiced for weeks to get it all right. And he is a genuinely good guy. He is not actively psychotic now but his brain damage and autoimmunity from 7 years of untreated Lyme makes him vulnerable to depression, anxiety,. He has MCAS, which makes him allergic to all but about7 foods and this past weekend ended up in hospiL with a relapse into co infection Bartonella. Stress can short circuit everuthing. If you want to hear it from him, he has put together 8 Chapters of his 8 year nightmare getting a diagnosis and treatment. 15 minute segments with a song from that time. He has been dealing with this since 19 but also has had mental health issues all of his life. There us jyst too much to write. See his second channel Renmakesstuff.

The Jenny & Screech trilogy (A-Aron... please do all three in one take) is another great example how genuine and important Rens music is. I for one continue to brake down over and over again when I'm hear/watch "Su!cide" (can't listen to it more than once a week). He had already so much going on in his life and was able to take all the shit that happened to and around him and distilled it into something... better. Something that helps so many telling them that they are not alone and we all face and battle our inner demons. I'm so happy that something... someone is present in our actual time in such a challenging world.
@Adalinedaydreams2 ай бұрын
When he was younger Ren felt strongly he had been put on this earth to make positive changes. He literally stood in a room and challenged evil forces. At a later date (age 19 I think), got bitten by a tick and his health spiraled downward. Ren IS making positive changes to the world and not just his masterpieces of art. So many of us with autoimmune, pain and mental health problems have been inspired by REN’s courage, vulnerability and positivity to live our lives more in the light that he radiates into the Universe. We call this the Reniverse . REN is a beautiful human being, full of empathy and love. If there were more REN’s in the world, the world would be a better place.

I'm a 64-year-old man and have never heard another artist at Rens level. I have watched hundreds of reactors reacting to this piece and have cried every time. His art will bring out one's emotions. Once you see more, you will understand why I see Ren as a modern-day Shakespeare with his story telling, but more than that, I see him as a modern-day Prophet; Most of his work either brings awareness or a message that humanity needs to see/hear. In the song "Sound of Silence" there is a line; "the words of the Prophets are written on the subway walls and tenement halls". Sometimes they come from artists like REN. Welcome to the RENiverse.

@@NightFogFilmsYes. It’s not just that the captions are often incorrect, causing the viewer to get an inaccurate impression of the words. It’s also that, visually speaking, focusing on the captions prevents you from being immersed fully in the experience. Like A-Aron said, REN’s music isn’t “just” a song, it’s a work of art. Reading the captions distracts you from FEELING the experience. It’s okay to miss some words the first time through because as all #Renegades know from experience, you’re going to watch it again and again. I’ve watched this 100+ times on my own, plus hundreds of reaction videos because I love watching new people discover #Ren . If you don’t, the captions will show you the lyrics to certain surprises and a plethora of plot twists, and you won’t be surprised within the moment. It makes things far less gut-punching and exciting. And it will ruin your reaction video. Because we Renegades are excited to see you discover these things for the very first time in real time so we can all relive that glorious moment. Many of his songs are like this, which is why you will constantly get the advice to please turn off the captions when you’re filming your first initial reaction video to each masterpiece. That's why my connection to Ren's music is so shocking and beautiful, even when I don't understand the words his music speaks to me (and after listening I climb down this rabbit hole of lyrics and google everything I don't understand, my vocabulary has really expanded lately🤓) All Love from Ukraine🇺🇦🩵💛, prayers for Ren❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

It’s amazing but they change and grow so much emotionally. I’ve seen grown men, big “tough guys” talk about how Ren’s music and his outlook have helped them better understand their children. She not only has Shakespearean levels of talent and skill and versatility… But he is also an exceptional human being. Truly. He takes feelings that people think they’re not supposed to have and makes it okay to express them. In all the best ways. Some of his music takes very difficult, even excruciating, topics and brings them to the forefront so that they have to be confronted, deeply felt, and maybe, God willing, prevented from happening in the future. He changes people. it’s astonishing. it is an incredibly rare and amazing thing for an artist. He makes people better… Not only makes people feel better, feel less alone, feel heard and seen, but also makes people want to be better and do better. I find myself hoping and hoping that he does truly understand how important and APPRECIATED he is by so many people. Not “just” for his art but also for his heart. ☮️♥️

I had to pause your video. Great analysis so far. I'm at around 8:50 and you are contemplating whether the intro has deeper meaning. I agree with you, that intro is how he presents himself on the outside, and the yodeling part is where we are allowed to step into his inner thoughts and see what is going on up in his head. And then later on when he yodels again, that is stepping back out of his head and back on the outside, where he talks to us in spoken words. Also, the riff he plays in the intro mimics the decent of his psyche as he unravels, but then is forced to pick up the pieces. This cycles continuously.

Wow! What a superb reaction mate! Possibly the best I've watched and I've seen hundreds. Your appreciation and analysis was both on the money and exciting to watch. I loved your emotional vulnerability at the end and the effect that Ren's work clearly had on you. The man is a generational artist, his fans are 18-80 years old and we are all saying we've never seen anything like him.

Loved your reaction! Thank you for the sensitivity, depth and connection. Ren as you have seen is an absolute genious, it's almost supernatural. He is going through a difficult time because of this illness so it's quite nice and a beautiful tribute that you found him and reacted to this now!

Thank you so much for your review. It's really great when a new person finds Ren and feels this song. Welcome to the rabbit hole. There really is before you first heard Ren and your new life after Ren. And because Ren says a rising tide lifts all ships, I've subscribed and I'll keep coming back to watch your next review.

O.A.R. (Old-Ass RENegade) here. Welcome to the RENaissance, brother. You will smile, you will grimace; you will imagine, you will reflect; you will laugh, you will weep. But you are a RENegade yourself now, so just know that you are part of a family that is legion - and you are never alone. Call on any of us anytime you're hurting or down, we are all here for each other, just as Ren would want us to be.

I woke up this morning to a link of this video posted on Ren's Patreon. Loved your reaction and am so glad another RENagade recommended it. You get it. Subscribed! Please start your way down the Ren rabbit hole. It's so worth it. Next please, The Tale of Jenny and Screech. There's a version where they're all put together in one long video. I think it's near 13 minutes long but the storytelling is so good that the time will fly.

Canadian RENegade here...I never knew how much I need Ren in my life until Ren was in my life🖤The man is a lyrical/poetic genius. He is so special right?! He must be protected at all costs!!!! Loved your reaction have subbed for your Ren journey. Cheers & enjoy the rabbit hole😃

Would recommend you explore his earlier materials first, the "tales of Jenny and screech", "bitter sweet symphony", "chalk outlines" and of course the "money games" trilogy. You seem to be curious of the rap-side also so whatever you choose you can't really go wrong, but would recommend "power". Ren is genuine.

Great reaction, you're a delight to watch! Ren's catalog is deep, over 200 songs on KZbin, between his own channel and various bands and collaborations - take your time and savor. Storytelling, singing, rap, ballads, rock... you never know what you're gonna get. You can throw darts at anything in his catalog and find gems, but a few of my faves to add to your list: Genesis, Ready For You, Seven Sins. 🖤🖤🖤

The fact that he records most of his videos live makes it all the more magical. Ren’s musicianship, delivery, brilliant lyrical content, cadence, and raw emotion cannot be faked, and every fiber of his being can be felt through his music. It’s truly on another level. I end up with tears running down my face, as it’s so relatable. An artist hasn’t moved me like him in many years. Ren is obviously a truly special artist, and I’m glad he’s getting the recognition he deserves. His gift needs to be shared, as it is healing and has genuine positivity backing it. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to Ren for lighting a fire in me, I’d thought had burned out. 🔊🙏🎶💜”

I would encourage you strongly, even not as a reaction, to watch the 1 million subscriber post from REN. This will very briefly show you the person REN is and the impact he has had on so many lives. Then, probably Tales of Jenny and Screech (full version). I have watched Hi REN, probably in the hundreds now and still cry every time. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜. The RENegades will assemble now 😊
