The scene of James Cagney dancing down the stairs was not in the script. He improvised and the director left it in the film. The first scene was Bill "Bojangles" Robinson and Shirley Temple.

I can understand your excitement, it's a fun idea. I have seen most, if not all, of the films shown, even though I was not born when they were made. I can't remember exactly whether I saw them all, most of the films are shown here under different titles. I used to consume anything if it had anything to do with music, no matter what it was and whether I liked it or not. I was particularly fascinated by Fred Astaire. I just want to remember the dance scene on the ceiling. In general, I love it when people seem completely ordinary, but when they practice their profession they take on a very special aura. Strictly speaking, “Uptown Funk” is a song by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars. Even though the song itself isn't to my taste, I love the funky bass and the brass sections. and I respect both Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars as producers and musicians.

@@tazzznphilly After watching the video I will definitely watch "Singin' In The Rain" and "Kiss Me Kate" again, which I haven't seen in a long time. Singin' In The Rain is one of the best dance movies, Gene Kelly is great, but Donald O'Connor is breathtaking. Since tomorrow is a public holiday for us, I might find time to watch one or even both in addition to all the sporting events taking place and the second semi-final of the ESC.

I saw a lot of those when I was little, Shirly Temple, Fred Astaire, James Cagney and the Nicholas Brothers are unreal if you get a chance to check out the stormy weather video it's like 6 min long and they kill it. Fantastic video and reaction thanks Tazzz.

There were at least 1/3 of those movies that I had not seen. Most of those were from 1930's. Many I had seen only for the dance clips as I was into dance as a youngster. Some I had seen a huge number of times to study the dance moves. I was never a big movie buff as I prefered books. While everyone else was glued to their TV's or out to the movies, I was perched in a window seat or a comfy crotch of a favorite big tree voraciously devouring my latest literary aquisitions. I was very impressed by the craftsmanship of this mix but it was painful to watch for me. All those images have iconic songs/music to go with those images and it was hard to shut out the memories of the real song and follow the Uptown funk song at the same time.😂😂😂🙄 Just wierd I guess. 🤔 🥰🥰🇨🇦
