One Artist for you to React to: TOMMY BOLIN. (Tommy, sadly passed away in 1976, at the Very Early Age of 25. Just as he was on the verge of becoming Big. Stupidly, He OD'ed!! :( :( I was 17, he was My 1st Guitar Hero, and My Entire World was Rocked Hard for A Long While. Check Out: My Favorite: "Wild Dogs" and "Dreamer" both off of his 1st solo CD "Teaser". Also, "Post Toastee" from his 2nd/last solo album: "Private Eyes". IF you are Into/Like Great Dynamics, then "Dreamer" is a song for you. From sparse, mellow and pretty to Rocking Out in a beat. Then-Boom- Right back to sweet and mellow. On "Post Toastee" Everyone in the band gets to Show Off A Little! :) I would suggest the studio versions/audio of all 3.

I never knew this translated , we just sang it growing up not knowing what it was, we thought it was just gibberish! But as I hear it again it sounds like what we call in Pro Wrestling taking “Carny” or Carny Talk … that wrestlers would communicate to each other in the territories. so the fans wouldn’t get smart to what’s being said about or being exposed to business. It’s food for thought

I loved it especially because it was a song about something girls were doing, at least in my school and neighborhood, there was a hard gender lock on certain activities. Jumping rope and hand clap games were girl’s activities and boys didn’t seem interested. Still remember the thrill of watching a really good jumper do it for a long time. Shout out to the girls! 😍

I remember this song well from my elementary school days. Double Dutch is harder than it looks, I couldn't even turn the ropes, let alone jump. The lyrics always struck me as funny, in that he keeps missing the bus and train, especially since Philadelphia SEPTA buses and trains are often late!

Everyone is absolutely mesmerized by the beat and groove, while Frankie Smith Pied Piper'd all the kids onto the bus and then peaces out onto the horizon as the neighboorhood, with the music fading away with the bus, slowly realize how they just allowed a mass kidnapping to happen while doing nothing to stop it.
