Much respect to Father for pointing out the whole "Voting R" mindset; let's be honest, immoral JFK was more conservative than any "republican" of the last 3 decades

This was a fantastic podcast. I have a question for Father McKenna, you mentioned that Catholics should get involved in local politics and I’m unaware if they require you to take an oath to the constitution but my question is are Catholics permitted to take such an oath to the constitution when we know as Catholics that the freedom of speech and the separation of church and state aren’t actually good things. I’m not sure if the 1st amendment is too nuanced for it to be sinful but I’m curious to read your response. Would a Catholic be permitted to enter in the U.S. Military and take an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic? Would a Catholic be permitted to enter the law enforcement field and take an oath to the Constitution to protect and defend the Constitution and other local laws? “all employees shall be required to affirm the oath of office expressing commitment and intent to respect constitutional rights in discharging the duties of a law enforcement officer” “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech,” Thank you,

Fr. Drahman CMRI at the Akron parish would have been a great guest to include on this topic. He is very passionate and knowledgeable of the topic.

His input would be very valuable. Father tends to know a lot about these things, I’m pretty sure given an opportunity he would likely want to make a guest appearance.

He is here is Spokane at my church right now for the priest meetings. I hope to run into him. I love Fr. Gregory.

@@Corvus001I agree! Fr. Gregory was at Mary Immaculate Queen Parish in Rathdrum for a while, and when I saw this topic I thought of him because he gave an excellent sermon on this topic. It has stayed with me and I’m reminded of it every time we need to vote.

I'm laughing at the comments, "Taylor Marshall dropped out of the Presidential race and he returned all of his donors money". 😂😂😂

How about this? I believe the 19th Amendment was detrimental to the political landscape, so I'm going to abstain on voting on those groynds. 😂

This is not talked about enough. Women voting harms all families not just liberal families. How can we feel comfortable saying "women getting to the right to vote ruined our country" in our little social circles yet out loud and publicly, we cannot follow through on it?
@Corvus0019 ай бұрын
@@wallykasp Ideally, nobody should vote.

Can't disagree with that with rigged elections and such but the 19th amendment was addressed in the comment.
@Corvus0019 ай бұрын
@@wallykasp I meant, that rigged elections or not, *nobody* should be able to vote. Ideally. You are right though. If we *are* unfortunately going to have votes, should not the heads of the family do so, the man, as God intended?

I enjoyed this podcast and the conversation you guys had concerning voting. I’ll admit at first I thought to myself “Why is this conversation taking place” but after watching I’ve benefited from it greatly. I agree with Fr McKenna that our votes matter most at the local level and that when you get past the state level it’s hard to say our vote is counted. I think this could be a real encouragement to redirect our zeal toward local-level elections instead of the presidential election. With the current evidence of the 2020 presidential election, I think it’s safe to say what Louie said is incorrect that whoever wins the election will be put there by those in the dark. Zachary King once said that every US president was put there by the elites except for one.
