Hey I was wondering if you knew which plug is the one for radio connection. I’m not using the radio at the moment and it’s giving off a buzzing noise so I’m just trying to completely get rid of radio for the meantime.
@Rythecarguy Жыл бұрын
It's integrated into the main harness. If you want to unplug it you have to take it out and unplug it from the back of the radio.

Solid blue should connect to AMP power on but I would double check the diagram that came with your wiring harness.

Hey great video and very helpful. One question, I can not get my rear camera to function. There was a green wire with white stripe on the conversion wiring harness that read reverse. Does that have to be connected and if so can you tell me where that gets connected?
@josh330253 жыл бұрын
If the car doesn't have a factory reverse power wire you have to run a wire from the reverse light up to the radio.

Great Video, I just put a similar radio in my Mustang. After I completed the job my HVAC cluster would not light up and would not function in any way. I checked the #10 & 12 fuses, they seem fine and I checked the two plugs into the back of the HVAC cluster. Still no luck, do you have any advice? Thanks!
@Rythecarguy4 жыл бұрын
Sell it and buy another car. Just kidding! Honestly the plugs on the rear of those controls are VERY finicky. I would take it back apart and make sure they are very firmly seated. That or you forgot to plug them back in. I have done that at least twice LOL.

On the aftermarket stereo that you took out (looks like a kenwood stereo that you pulled out) how was it running off of only the factory car wiring? I have that same exact stereo and it’s frustrating, because I can’t find a harness that I properly need for it, but you just said the wiring was never touched, so how did it even fit into that aftermarket stereo?
@Rythecarguy5 жыл бұрын
Just buy the proper harness. You wire the stereo to the harness, then plug the harness into the factory connectors in the dash. I’ll try to find you a link.

@Rythecarguy4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you need a voltage step down for your amp. When the remote turn on sends a signal to turn on it should be 5v. Aftermarket radios send up to 12v.

So I had the shaker 1000 radio with the oem 10 inch subwoofer in trunk and they hit hard.. now I’ve replaced the radio and I am confused on what the blue and white wire runs to any suggestions? I connected it to the blue wire off the harness and the subwoofer works but doesn’t hit hard like it use to
@Shnickeyss5 жыл бұрын
Probably a dumb response, but I'd turn up the subwoofer level in the radio's settings if it has it and you haven't done it already. Otherwise, it might be that the factory amplifier isn't getting enough power after installing the aftermarket head unit and if that's the case, you're kinda out of lucky

I checked all connections, everything looks good, I even went as far as buying a completely new radio (A kenwood). I bought the identical harness and everything. No matter what I do, the new radio will not get power. When I plug the old one back in, there IS power. Is there something I'm missing?

Man does the 14v my mustang produces will burn or overheat a 12v android screen
@Rythecarguy4 жыл бұрын
No, when the car is running it will produce more that 12v. Its how it charges the battery back up. If you were only producing 12v or less you would be constantly draining your battery. Your mustang is a 12v system. You will not damage a 12v unit if you install it. Hope this helps!
