he was asking where the filter was. you can put the shield on first then the air filter. then just put it in. its much easier instead of trying to jack up the car. It would be nice to hear it run with it.

You can shove the filter through the fender well but I wouldn't recommend it. They should of showed how to put on the filter that's the hardest part.

The only problem with that is the clearance. The filter is too large to go inside from the engine bay that's why you have to come from the bottom and through the fenderwell. If you are missing your fenderwell it makes this extremely easy to put on but if you are running without a fenderwell then you run the risk of water getting into the intake. I had a difficult time getting my filter on, over an hour plus, because my hands just aren't small enough to do it.

Just finished installing this. The hardest thing was installing the filter. I had to jack the car up. Also had to fill the hole on the pipe with a rubber grommet. Found it at Home Depot. Overall not very difficult.

Those two hoses connecting to the intake hose, the one closest to the front, I think it’s called the cabrio tube? Mine has rubber that is crumbling. I’m afraid to force it and have it crack. But I also saw online that it’s a hard plastic. Am I ok to put force into removing it cuz I see that it’s rare to replace online. And not available at local auto stores.

I would believe so. I did some research but still couldn’t determine the exact term for it. All I found out is that, the rubber that is deteriorating is just a casing for the hard plastic hose.

@@BongerZ013 That rubber hose can be replaced. Just purchase the correct size emission hose. It won't have the molded bend like the OEM hose, but it'll work. I've done it several times. Hope this helps. -Landan

My favorite part was hey now go down to the hardware store and make a grommet to fill a hole for a sensor you likely don't have. So the kit would be $3.00 more for a complete install. I just removed this kit that came with my car and went with R2C Performance kit. No hardware store for me as it came complete.

Hey fellas, your car should be already equipped with a cold air intake hoes and filter. Why put another one on? The one you have already, is basically doing the same thing. Its just 2 horses and you aren't going to tell the difference. Don't waste that much money on 2 horses.

So just bought a cleaner, sprayed it down and put it back in for now. I have a 2001 Mustang gt 4.6 convertible. Would you happen to know the part # for the air filter because I do want to get a new one. Going to have to be online.

@@lalomontoyajr.9282 It's always good to have a spare filter even when they have the ability to be cleaned and reoiled. Unfortunately, we don't sell a service filter for that particular cold air intake. You'll need to measure the ID (inside diameter) of the flange on the air filter that slides over the tube. You'll want to measure the overall height and width of the filter to make sure you get one that will fit within the area. Let me know if you have any questions. -Landan

If I notice the performance of my mustang isn't up to par with the cleaning of the filter i will take it out and measure the diameter of the flange and the filter size itself. Being that I didn't see no part # on it that's what I will have to do. Thank you.

You ever used breath -rite strips? That's essentially what it feels like to a car yes if you clean your filter atleast once a month it keeps "dust" at bay.. I wash and re-oil my filter and it flows so much smoother till it needs a cleaning(after a month usually)
