Shame on Ford for not including this as OEM equipment. Would rather have functionality rather than decals, spoilers, etc. I'm gonna get this shifter for my 14 GT/CS.

The bracket supports the rear of the shifter housing where it connects to the floor. The factory bracket has a large rubber gasket that holds it and allows a fair amount of movement, the FRPP bracket is made by Barton and is sold seperately. It gets rid of the bushing and does a much better job supporting the shifter.

If you don't install the bracket you can do the whole install in the car just like the 79-04 cars but the bracket is a worthwhile upgrade and is worth the extra effort.

Let's just be intellectually honest... this is a really nice upgrade over the factory crap. However, it's not really a full shifter though; It's an upgraded shifter arm and bracket. It doesn't replace the shifter body with the marshmallow rubber bushings or the flimsy shifter rod and bracket to the trans. It says "Ford Racing", but it's made by Barton, and is $100 more than the Barton because of the Ford logo. Don't get me wrong, I would love to get the "Ford Racing" piece, but I don't want to waste my money for something that is not the absolute best available for my high-dollar, muscle Mustang. CJ is selling the Ford Racing 'shifter' kit at $478.99. The MGW Compact Race Spec shifter is $470, and all one has to do is look at it to see the engineering quality vs. cost of the MGW is so vastly superior that the real choice is obvious... Scrap the entire factory shifter assembly, and get the MGW for $470.

Installed mine not sure if my lower shift boot is not on right but 5th is so hard to get into wot and normal driving ! Not sure what to do almost tempted to go back to stock

Does anyone know where one could find just the Boss 302 shift knob? It's easy to find similar ones or ball shift knobs to mimic them, but is there a way to get the Ford OEM one?

Put this shifter on my 2013 Boss 302 Since the shift ball is different than the stock boss302 you need to reuse your stock shift ball or as I did take the aluminum shifter to shift boot piece put it in a lathe and modified it to replicate the stock boss shift ball People see the white ball( I have white boss ) and ask how did I do it any ways thats how its done Also I like the way I did it because the aluminum trim piece works as a jam nut on the ball No need for locktite and fighting to get the ball off like stock set up

I may or may not have overtightened at 3:52 of the install, is there any repercussions to that? Car shifts great and feels fine but I definitely gave those 4 bolts on top a good cranking

when i try to put it in first gear i go to far left and put it in reverse. if i go to far right then its in third gear. is this normal? its hard to find first gear.

The Ford Racing shifter is not made by MGW, it's made by Barton. I love MGW shifters but prefer the Barton/Ford Racing for the 11 and up cars.

I don’t think so, I’ve been doing a lot of research recently because I just got a boss 302 a few weeks ago and have been having that issue. So far most people have told me a new clutch will fix the problem but a lot of people have said a MGW or any other transmission mounted shifter will fix the issue.

You did not see the barton shifter video where it tells you to change the lock out position After you do that you will find it feels 100% better (all you need to do is remove the shift boot and do it from inside the car) Ford f’d up by leaving that part of the instructions out
