Thank you. I have an F350 dually with a diesel engine. Diesel engines put about 800 more pounds on the front axle than a gas engine. There were a lot of places in that region where I drove on the beach because the sand was hard-packed but not here. On Padre Island for example, I drove for 5 miles on the beach. However, in the campground area, the sand was softer, and I didn't want to risk taking my truck on the sand and needing a tow. I tried, but I saw that I was sinking a bit, so I went back. There wasn't enough video or photos to make it worthwhile to post on KZbin. If I didn't have a diesel engine, or if I had a jeep or a 1/2 ton truck, I would have driven in that area without much concern and would have had some video.

Do you have any info on what sites to avoid for flooding? I have seen pics of some of the camp sites standing in water after heavy rains. Thank you for this video. We are planning a trip and seeing what awaits us really helps us plan our trip.

The campground is fairly flat except near the dumpsters on the left as you drive into the camp site area. I have seen those first few sites on the left sometimes hold water, but I think most of the others dry out at about the same rate. We had site 17 for 2 weeks and never had any significant problems. You might want to join a Facebook group for Texas State Parks and ask the question there or look at the reviews for this park at RVLife.com (campgrounds.rvlife.com/regions/texas/port-aransas/mustang-island-state-park-2870). If there is a site that floods, you will probably find your answer in one of the reviews from people that have stayed there. Hope this helps

110V 15/20, 30, and 50 amp. All sites have water. None have sewer. Dump station is near the entry gate.
