My first new car before college was a red 290 HP 1969 Mach 1. It had a fixed scoop with a 351 badge. No shaker. Most Cobra Jets and Boss Mustangs had a shaker. The current Mach 1 looks great using just the hood strip and Mach 1 logo. The... Mach 1 with the handling package is heads above the GT in performance and handling. When you review the performance parts used on the Mach 1. It's like driving a Coyote powered GT350.

That's quite the first new car! I think that's a great assessment of the new Mach 1. After all, Ford wanted the pinnacle of 5.0 performance!

@@autohuntercinema I work nights during high school saving a down payment for my new red $3,100 Mach 1. Worked to pay it off while attending college. I had the engine ported, polished and balanced with several other bolt on parts. After marriage and a baby. It had to go. It will always be my favourite car. I'm now 71 and retired. But I remember filling my bookshelf with trophies I won at the dragstrip running in a stock class in both the NHRA and IHRA tracks.

@@DWH300 thank you for sharing with us kind sir! I just picked up a used 22 M1. My grandfather had an early 70`s Mach one when he was alive and able to drive. He made a rear seat Delete so he could put him German Shepard named “bunny” in the back and make trips from vermont to phoenix with her. I remember the blue was a darkish ocean blue with a matte finish. Ever since then I always wanted a Mach and felt the 03/04 wasn’t there yet so I never bought that one.

Jim O. has said it over and over these last 2 years, "the Mach1 is the pinnacle of 5-liter performance" for Ford. I agree and as such now own a 2023 Mach1, 6spd. I didnt even research these cars, just took Jim's and the Auto-reviewer's words as true. Such a great purchase and so much fun to own and drive. I drive it daily and every other time I am out someone says something nice about it.

I love my 71 Mach 1 And it doesn't have the shaker from 71-73 also my dad has a 70 Mach 1 also without the shaker just a fake scoop with light turn signals and we love them both!! 👍😎

Can't go wrong with that!

Not sure this current Mach1 needs the shaker hood! I think it would have been nice if Ford had done a tribute to the 71 Mach1 NACA hood scoop package. With either a complete flat black hood, or at least follow the hood lines with a wider blacked out hood with the Mach1 call out! I ordered a Grabber Blue in May, hope I'm able to sneak in on this production schedule!

It does not! Jim did a great job explaining all of the thought process that went in to building this car and the shaker hood. Congratulations on the Grabber Blue order!

My first car at 17 was a 69 Cobra Jet Mach1! 50 years later my last new car is a 2022 Mach1! Just got my vin # and build date, can't wait!

You ask him why it didn't get rear brembos? Even If it doesn't make a difference it is definitely visually worth it. And at its price point.

Agreed 100% with you, why it has stock brakes on the back for a nearly $65K-70K is insane to me. The Shelby GT 350, GT 350R, and of course te GT 500 have Brembos on all 4 corners. The Camaro 2ss ile has Brembos on all four corners and that car is $50K brand new.

@D M 100% agreed, the GT 350, GT 500, have Brembos on all four corners. The Mach 1 is an upgraded GT PP2 with the Tremec 6 speed in my opinion with an insane markup being a limited production car.
