Thanks for the kind words. She will definitely be on when we're doing things like the rack opinion and the 3 link and the 64 Falcon hardtop. But she's also expressed some interest in doing other things on Autorestomod so you never know.

Slick system, I love how it will play nice with much of the stock components. It would help a fella to be able install the base part of the system and upgrade other pieces later, especially if it’s a pay as you go project, it’s not all or nothing. 👍 oh btw, I am glad she said it, because we’d be in the dog house for sure.

Yes, it's one of the things I really like about the RRS product that's product. Having that ability to just do 1 or 2 components at a time period do the strut now, do the rack opinion later, it all works to the end. When Diona said that about "it's so easy your wife could do it" I wanted to look around for the non existent HR person here at our shop lol.

Hopefully I can get back out that way and do a tech spot with Jeff, and with what I’m seeing from you we could film it and let Jeff sit in the directors chair. 😂

Jeff, I just finished installing the RRS in my 65 Mustang. It was not too complicated and at this moment I am in the process of setting camber. Huh...I had no idea the Ackerman on the Falcon-Chassis cars was a better match for the wider track and longer wheelbase of the Galaxie. That's really strange since they're totally different chassis. While manual steering could get really heavy, modern tires like a lot of caster. The RRS set up is really nice.

Correct. I'm sure Jeff can add more techeze to that!
@AutoRestoMod2 жыл бұрын
The brakes were picked by RRS as being the best set up for the application. And they offer a huge amount of different breaks. Because they went with the hub system (again for efficiency and better performance), you can't use your standard disc brakes from your spindle style system.

Does anyone know if the Shelby export brace can be used since the RRS strut caps are different? I would really like to keep it.

Did you use the driver side rotor? Thought the slots should be center to outer as the rotor turns going forward.
@AutoRestoMod2 жыл бұрын
We might have indeed lol. The reason I used that rotor was because the one that I was going to use on that side had my rusty fingerprints all over it and it looked bad. I do know that RRS does not dictate side for the rotor.

Couldn’t just make wire clips to hold them in tight to the caliper. I used to use hangers to clip over the space in the pads. I didn’t see if there was a gap in the pads. But maybe you can do it to the backing plate?
