Whats more versatil rat VS bd2?
@charlesockholmes97645 ай бұрын
@@Twylightt If you really have to choose one, most definitely the BD2 because it can be transparent or very dirty depending ont the settings. But it sounds thinner than the RAT. For instance, when I play "Keep on Rocking in a Free World" (Neil Young) it sounds powerful and heavy with the RAT but weak with the BD2.

All those amazing sounds you got from a few pedals, shows how talented you are. I’d say upload what’s best for your KZbin algorithm.

Hell yeah !! (lol) pleeeese make more videos for those of us just starting our real guitar journey :) We are so lucky to have you Mustafa, and I totally agree none of this was around when I wanted to play so much younger, and you make it so simple and so interesting. You are an AWESOME player and my playing has gone to another level being your Patreon, so much information there :) I have been trying to decide which pedal board and power supply for my first few pedals, and as you say it's confusing and can be unecessarily expensive if you're buying the wrong thing. You just solved it all for me once again. You simplify so well and cater to everyone at every level if they don't want so simple. The best channel on KZbin for me and I'm sure a lot of other players. Thankyou Mustafa.

This video was fantastic. This is such an underappreciated gem in the KZbin guitar genre. But don't worry, I think it's going to blow up really soon.

Great video! I started my first board with a BOSS BC-3 -> EH Green Russian Muff -> EH Deluxe Electric Mistress -> TC Flashback (not the mini). So, not that different, at all. Since, I've added a BOSS BD-2, EH Tube Driver, and BOSS BE-7 after the Muff and am about to add a Fender Pinwheel between the Electric Mistress and Flashback, I think (want to try it both before and after the delay). Gets me 95% of the tone I am looking for, and isn't too unwieldy.

Thank you. You are great! One thing I don't think you mentioned but I think it would have been fitting as a follow-up to this video's theme is: - What do you think of starting instead with a Helix Line 6 thingy? 😊
@mustyguitar Жыл бұрын
I don't have experience with Helix Line 6, it looks great. I've never been much of a fan of processors and multi-effects. There are probably videos on Helix Line 6

My choices in pedal types as essentials is similar (not brand neccessarily) except I find a compressor a must have giving sustain without adding fuzz or distortion , and I choose chorus over flange...
@mustyguitar Жыл бұрын
I don't call a pedalboard pedalboard if it doesn't got a compressor, but for beginner's sake, maybe not as important as gain pedals.

Mustafa this is pretty much the pedalboard I have settled on after buying and selling pedals for 20 years. Just replace the rams head with the russian ehx reissue! So versatile and so fun. You can do anything with this setup. Everyone out there listen to the man, he is sharing great tips

Should you create definitive beginners guide?.....without any doubt you really, really should. I have been looking for information regarding pedals and various effects and THIS video is EGGZACTLY what a noob like me has been looking for to wade into various effects. I cannot thank you enough for creating this video in particular! One quick question, please.... why do you wear that yellow (rubber?) band on your picking hand...what is the purpose of that?

And, how about rat, better range sound then bd2?
@mustyguitar5 ай бұрын
rat has too much mid range, it's kind of a high gain tube screamer. it's a great one and even Gilmour himself used it for years, but it's not ideal for overdrive tones.
@Twylightt5 ай бұрын
@@mustyguitarMaybe BD2 for powerboost and overdrive sounds , and Rat for Tube drive and fuzz/Big muff… on a budget 2 pedals… what you think?
@mustyguitar5 ай бұрын
@@Twylightt well, that is an idea, but tube driver is not mid rangy pedal either, in fact, it's nastier than bd-2 in most cases :D go for rat if you want man, it's a great pedal! I got videos about rat pedals in my channel.
