When I first watched a video of yours, with that tobacco cabinet in the background, I thought you'd been recording in an actual tobacco shop...like you're the shop owner and use it after closing time to make your videos there. But no, it's a private room devoted to the art of pipe smoking! Never saw something like that before.

Be cool if you could make a hinge on each lid so all you would need to do is lift the lid up and dip you're pipe into the jar to fill it. Of course the cabinet would have to rest on a pretty good angle for that to work, but it would be my ideal setup for sure. Nice work on all of that by the way.
@MuttnchopPiper8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Christian, I have considered hinges, but the foam core is a little to light weight for them. 😃😃😃

Hi Muttchop! I'm relatively new to the KZbin Pipe Community and love your content! Your approach is helpful to newer pipe smokers like me. Inspired by your video, I recently set out to design a cabinet made out of wood (specifically 1/2" x 6" poplar). I'd like to share my plans with others and post them on my Etsy shop. But I believe in giving credit where credit is due, so I’d like to give you credit for the inspiration behind my woodworking plans and include a link to your KZbin channel. Is that okay with you? Thanks again for all you do!

Really enjoyed this, Muttinchop. I actually recently built my cellar box recently and used foam core for the inner shelves but the outer box I made using weathered wood. But I am curious as to what you used for the cutting of the foam core? I used a box cutter, but had some difficulty with good, clean and accurate cuts. Yours would be even more demanding since the entire structure was made of this material.
@MuttnchopPiper11 ай бұрын
I used an exacto knife, but one I could exchange the blades in, when I started to get rough cuts, I would change out the blade.

I have. Question. I am using Mason jars like you are but I have a vacuum saver that can vacuum sealer the lids. Should I just put the lid on and screw cap and seal it like that or put to lid on seal it with the vacuum sealer pulls all the air out then put the screw on
@MuttnchopPiper7 жыл бұрын
David Kelley - it depends, if you are going to Cellar the tobacco for years, then yes, if you plan on dipping into the jar for tobacco now and again then no, just screw it on, and it will eventually seal itself. 😃😃😃

Very fine collection and a rack you got there. I'm using a wooden cabin with doors to restore my tobacco.Smoking Three Nuns. Have you smoked it?. What is your favorite English an non-English?, if you don't mind me asking. I'm keeping my pipes in 3 big pipe cabins made by a carpenter who has been my client for years. Have a great sunday and cool smokes mate.
@MuttnchopPiper8 жыл бұрын
I have never tried 3 Nuns, but it is on my list of tobacco's to try. I would rather not say at this time what my favorite tobacco's are, I am going to do a video on that subject in December. 👍👍👍😃

I know this video is quite a few years old, but I am just starting piping and have watched most of your videos which have made a huge difference for me. What size mason jars are you using? In the video you said medium. Does that mean pint size? I thought they looked like 8oz jars and I tried putting a tin of tobacco in one. I have to press it down pretty tightly to fit in an 8oz jar.
@MuttnchopPiper Жыл бұрын
Yes, 8 oz. Is the size, you want it to be tight in the jar

@MuttnchopPiper8 жыл бұрын
+Goshovi that would be nice, but I vowed to myself not to accept any free stuff from major companies, now I have accepted a couple of things from subscribers, I plan on doing a product video on an item that was sent to me, not because he gave it to me for free because I told him if I didn't believe in the product I would not do a video on it, but, I use this product every day, and find it to be invaluable. I also accepted some cigars and tobacco from another subscriber who had no one else to give it to. 👍👍😃

Hey my friend hope your well. I received a bunch of new tobacco This last few days (YABO) and I placed them in jars. Does it matter how much you fill the jars? Do you need to not fill it to tight or does it not matter?
@MuttnchopPiper7 жыл бұрын
The Magician Piper - this is how I fill my jars, I fill the jar loosely with tobacco, then press that tobacco down, fill again, then press it down, not to tight just firm, keep doing this until you have about 1/4 of an inch, or 1 cm. From the top, put the lid on tight, and your done. 👍👍👍
