I see some logic as to why people call muzan stupid, but hold on there, cause he was mathing at this point: -remember from the flashback against yoroichi? He though a random guy was weak and would be easily killed and almost got packed, it was so bad it got permanent ptsd that was transfered to his minions and since he never fought any of the hashira he didnt knew if there was another yoroichi in them, and thats why he avoided tanjiro. -Muzan knew and it was even stated by ubayashiki that a upper moon has the strengh of 3 hashiras, so even with 9 hashiras they would still be at disadvantage with 6 uppermoons. -Muzan litteraly send ALL of the corps in HIS domain where he can easily locate and kill them, heck he didnt even needed the uppermoon to kill them but stall for time up until he got out and finish the job. -he made sure to find a replacement for the 6, 5 and the 4, werent as powerfull as before but its still better than nothing. -he brought all the available demon here, knowing how many of these demon can be heavy trouble for regular slayers, bringing tens, if not hundreds of them in the castle where they dont have to worry about the special equipement and gears and the slayer corps so they wouldnt bring any reinforcement with weapons and heals, in an environment they're completely unfamiliar with and can be taken by surprise at any moment. Idk about yall but i think it was a very smart move from him.

Even a weak demon slayer is more than a match for a weak demon and its not even close, not to mention 20%-30% of these demon slayer background characters are Hinoto, Hinoe, Kinoto, and Kinoe ranked slayers, which are the top 4 highest ranks a slayer can get to, meaning every non high ranking lowermoon demon or higher is straight fodder to them.

The rest of your points could be argued as part of character flaw than plot armor and it's not like these characters won the fight unscathed.
