Poulenc: violin sonata. Tharaud, Mourja

One of the best versions I know. Note that the theme of "Tea for two" appears in every movement, a protest against the German occupation of Paris (Nazis prohibited Jazz). The Sonata was premiered by Ginette Neuveu with the composer in 1943. After her untimely death in a airplane crash Poulenc rewrote the last movement with a tragic end as a monument to her.
