Hopefully the prior owner had the spark plugs changed out. If the 2009 is anything like the 2012 six cylinder, the spark plug change interval at 100,000 K is a royal PITA. For entertainment purposes, check out a KZbin on the 2012 six-cylinder spark plug change procedure

I LOVED my 2011 Escape XLT (V-6/AWD) right up till the transmission went out at a Taco Bell drive thru at 234k miles. 😳😟😢 Got my Burrito Supreme & Taco Combo and was able to get her home in 'limp mode' at a top speed of 20 mph. By the way...the sunglasses holder in the center ceiling console makes a great Taco holder! Not much good for sunglasses I found. EPIC severe winter weather vehicle with the AWD torque vectoring system... I used to travel for work 800 to 1200 miles (per week) in my Escape, mostly remote rural West Virginia to Central PA and down to Deep Creek, MD. That little truck just bull-dozed thru blizzard conditions out in God's Country on back water unpaved roads...never saw the back of a tow truck till I had her towed to a salvage yard. The tow driver commented on how clean the truck was, especially the engine bay. He just added insult to injury with those comments as it was a sad day to see her go. A heater that can make you sweat when it's below zero out and A/C that will frost your eye brows. The Microsoft SYNC system in mine was near flawless & intuitive. Picking my second (2nd Gen.) Escape on Monday... A fully loaded LIMITED near identical to my XLT, right down to the same paint color as my old one, and yours...steel blue with the same leather seats in Parchment Cream. 112k miles. Appreciated your review video here! Hope you get many more miles out of yours... Looks like you will by the way you keep that vehicle up!

The 2nd Gen Ford Escape 2.5L I4 engine was supplied my Mazda. I am the second owner of a 2010 Ford Escape XLT 2.5L I4. my mom was the first owner. I started driving the car around 2020 and really liked how it drove. It only had a bit over 60,000 miles on it when i started driving it all the time. We got a 2009 Chrysler 300 with only 22,000 miles on it. when the Escape was in the shop this year for the A/C compressor issue, my mom tried to talk me into selling the Escape and taking over the 09' Chrysler 300. To be honest I love that car, especially now, after we replaced all four tires on it recently. But I didn't really care for that idea and we decided it was best to keep the Escape as my daily driver. I wouldn't mind at all taking over the Chrysler 300 now - since all 4 tires were changed, its really like a new car - even still smells new inside. But it bigger and not as good on gas as the Escape. But it sure does run good.

Drivers side transmission seal will leak ...You have to pull CV shaft and replace Seal and shaft ...There is kit for it .. Wheel bearing go bad usually rear .. You will see marks on your brake backing plate on bottom by spring as your wheel will have slight wobble. .. So when they do inspection have them check fir play or look for marks ...Usually you will hear bearing going bad around 55 mph .... Spindle hub is bear to get out you have to use heat on back on bearings and slide hammer .....

I drove a 2009 Ford Escape in red for a little bit over a week as a loaner vehicle. That was over 5 and a half years ago. It was easy to drive. I totaled my 2011 Mercury Milan by hitting a deer for the 2nd time in 2016. I drove what was my father’s 2008 Ford Expedition for 3 months before trading on a 2015 Ford Escape SE a little bit over 5 years ago. That 2015 one broke down on me in the middle of March 2022. I had it for almost 5 years. Now I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. It gets really better mileage from the 2015 one. I loved the Apple Car Play.

@WindyRiverRR7 жыл бұрын
You can fix the bubbling paint issue ... It is actually due to two prices of metal not pushed together and not being properly welded
@WindyRiverRR7 жыл бұрын
You can plug the hole with jb weld yourself and then scrape off the paint that is bad and 're paint it yourself I recommend a metal paint ... to prevent the other side from rusting make sure that there is no separation in the two prices of metal on that opposite side... Also you could still a hole in the back passenger door area to oil the back fenders

Another very common problem which I had was the rear window wiper motor seizes up and creates a parasitic draw that drains your battery. Easy replacement using RockAuto and KZbin videos. Disconnect wiper motor if this happens prior to replacing motor, about $75 I recall.
