“We Are Bulletproof Pt.2” is an extension of “We Are Bulletproof Pt.1,” a song created and recorded by BTS members pre-debut in 2010 while they were still BigHit trainees. “We Are Bulletproof Pt.2” served as the B-side to 2 Cool 4 Skool’s lead single, “No More Dream”, during the group’s debut promotional activities. Along with “No More Dream,” it was performed live for the first time at a press conference on June 12, 2013, marking a sort of unofficial “debut” for BTS in the Korean music industry. On June 13, 2013, BTS performed “We Are Bulletproof Pt.2” and “No More Dream” on Mnet’s weekly music program M Countdown, marking their official debut. The song’s music video, released July 16, 2013, was directed by Zanybros and features an intense choreography by Son Sungdeuk. The MV for “Pt.2” helped push 2 Cool 4 Skool back onto the Gaon Weekly Album charts in week 31, where it reached a new peak at number 5. And here some explanations : (WHAT) WE ARE BULLETPROOF WE ARE BULLETPROOF BULLETPROOF The name of the group, 방탄소년단 (Bangtan Sonyeondan, abbreviated “BTS”) translates as “Bulletproof Boy Scouts.” THE NAME IS JUNGKOOK, MY SCALE IS NATIONWIDE The Korean word for “nationwide”, “jeon-guk”, rhymes with “Jungkook”. I PULLED ALL-NIGHTERS AT PRACTICE ROOMS INSTEAD OF SCHOOL, DANCING AND SINGING WHILE YOU GUYS PARTIED I GAVE UP SLEEP FOR MY DREAMS Similar to their later song “Dope,” BTS members tell their stories about the massive differences between their daily activities, having to give up a lot of sleep due to constant writing and practicing in hope of being able to debut, to most youth’s typical activities, being out very late for wild parties and wasting sleep that the members need and wish they could have. Sometimes, they even had to pull all-nighters in order to complete a song. Other times, they had to stay up extremely late on top of the 12-15 hours of routine during the day. After sunrise, most people usually get up to start their days, and them sleeping after sunrise refers to them having to go without sleep sometimes because they, too, had to go through their routines when morning comes. This explains the hardships BTS endured in order to get to the point they are at today. It didn’t come easily and it didn’t come out of luck. Their success came purely from hard work and dedication. I SPENT ALL NIGHT HOLDING A PEN CLOSING MY EYES ONLY AFTER THE MORNING SUN RISES First of all, this is SUGA’s part (until the pre-chorus). SUGA and RM were the main members who wrote songs for the group (J-Hope joined them after gaining some experience) and they often had creative blocks and had to sacrifice sleep in order to make new music. The phrase “Closing my eyes after the morning sun rises” could mean either that he got little to no sleep because of the unfinished music, or because of the stress, they felt. DOUBLE STANDARDS AND MANY OPPOSITIONS As an idol who used to be an underground rapper, Suga, along with RM, received many doubts and criticism from other underground rappers, saying that they were not “real” rappers anymore. BUT I GOT LUCKY AND WAS CONTACTED BY AN AGENCY Jungkook was actually scouted by 7 companies in total, including JYP, FNC, Woollim, Starship, TS, Cube, and BigHit Entertainment, after his audition for Superstar K. Even though his audition was edited out, the various agency recruiters there spotted something special in him, which he thought was just by chance and with a little luck. At the end, he decided to join Big Hit Entertainment because of RM. ALL YOU WHO ARE CALLED RAPPERS BECAUSE YOU CAN’T SING THE RAPPER TITLE IS AN EXTRAVAGANCE FOR YOU SUGA became a rapper because it was his dream and because he was good at it; because he could write smart lyrics, produce great music and rap really fast. He looked down on people who became rappers, not because they were good at it or because they loved it (like he did), but because they were unable to do anything else in the music industry. Because rapping fast could be easier than hitting the right notes, high or low, people tried to become famous by becoming rappers, but with poor and unimaginative lyrics. RM calls these rappers out in his song 농담 (Joke) with phrases like: - “Idiot rappers, your standard is so-so” - “My pen is stronger than your tongue” - “There’s a difference from the roots between your and my level” - “Day or night, fucking industries, you’re a bastard who can’t even rap more than three characters Bibidi babidi bubidi babidi, nimini namini jikimi jakami” - “My rap is completely insane, your rap, I’ll just say one thing: Don’t rap My rap played in the larger waters Your "rap” is really not rap, non-rap" OH! THROW A STONE AT ME IF YOU’VE DONE AS MUCH AS I DID WE GO HARD, WE HAVE NO FEAR (CLICK CLICK, BANG BANG) WE JUST SING IT LIKE (CLICK CLICK, BANG BANG) WE JUST SING IT LIKE The idiom “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone” means you only have the right to criticize someone if you have acquitted yourself better than they have. This chorus is telling haters they have no right to criticize BTS' hard work and music unless they have actually put in the work themselves to perform in front of others, make and release music, and chase their dreams. LOOK AT MY PROFILE, THERE’S NOTHING THERE YET STILL A TRAINEE AND RAPPER MAN In the South Korean idol music industry, artists typically audition to be accepted to a record label. Once accepted, their status is “trainee” and they will undergo a period of physical conditioning, dance, vocal, music, and other types of training for a period extending anywhere from a few months to several years. During this time, they usually receive little to no pay from the label and often incur debts for the costs of their training. If they are talented and chosen by the label, they will make their “debut,” or release a track for promotion. The number of artists who actually make it to debut is pretty low; most trainees wash out before this point. Since this track was released on their debut album, at the time these lyrics were written, RM was still a trainee at his record label, BigHit. RAP MONSTER, LIKE MY NAME Before Namjoon changed his name to “RM” he was formally known as “Rap Monster”. HAHA, HYUNGS Hyung (‘형’ in Korean) means older brother. In Korea, respecting your elders (even if they are a year older than you) is extremely important. The term ‘hyung’ is what a younger male will call an older male out of respect.

BTS was the underdogs of the industry back them. RM himself have said their success was driven by anger. Anger of being underestimated, dismissed, and set aside. The boys had an intensity and hunger to their performance back then. They're more relax now but you still see that drive and intensity everytime they perform. It's why when people do covers of their song, they have to get the attitude right, and not just the lyrics and moves.

This came out in the same month (JUNE 2013) as NO MORE DREAM since its part of their debut album ‘2 Cool 4 Skool’ @16:18 Every time Jimin did that flip over JHope, he was always nervous that he might accidentally land on JHopes head; I think he overcame that feeling and also the hat trick Jimin & Jungkook do is an amazing illusion ... Jungkook had two hats already (one he wears & another he grabs off the floor), Jimin pretended to throw the hat to jungkook but if you watch jimin he puts the hat back on and Jungkook comes out to do his hat trick (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU REACT TO THEIR DANCE PRACTICE)

Main vocal jungkook being the only vocalist that’s also a sub rapper , lead dancer and the official “center” of bts since debut even though he’s the youngest.. was 14-15 at debut and is 2-5 years younger than everybody else lol he’s definitely such a good rapper and has a crazy flow…. Yep, that was J-Hope. When it comes to dancing, J -Hope is like fireworks on 4th of July :)))) About V's voice: you didn't pay so much attention to V, so, you don't know that V is the only one who can be a barriton voice or high pitch voice...
