For those saying USA is playing with their C team, Serbia is missing 5-6 key players, 2 of them are Nikola Jokić And Vasilije Micic NBA and Euroleague MVPs. So dont talk that shit, also i love how everyone was ye we are winning the world cup easy, but now when they have lost, they say who cares we played with the C team 😂. Also last 5 mvps are ppl outside USA.

I think it's more a lack of preparation rather than a lack of talent that is the problem for Team USA. They only announced the team and started preparing in July. That is way too short.
@TMPOUZI
@TMPOUZI 8 ай бұрын
@@lxpang all the teams started around July. The real issue is the lack of chemistry, lack of defensive skills due to the nba officiating style and lack of knowledge in team plays due to the way american kids are tought basketball in general

@@lxpang Everyone started at the same time, but i do think USA adapting to new rules is a problem for them, and they should prepare earlier. But also FIBA refs were letting USA slide for the first few games. In the end it comes to the conclusion that the best teams are in the finals. Basketball is a team game, and USA learned it the hard way.

if you put this usa team in the nba they're legit immediate contenders. They have Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Tyrese Haliburton as 4 star caliber players and many other really solid ones who could take over the game such as AR, Bridges, Ingram (not even mentioning B.P and Josh Hart which also are successful players)

NBA rules have made players look unstoppable on the offensive end. Travelling not being called, fouls handed out for minimum contact, the court being the size of an airport all for the game to look more appealing to fans. Then you put these guys play with FIBA rules and they get exposed for not being able to play fundamental basketball. Let’s face it Europe is catching up, it takes more than athletic players and gifted scorers to win games.

@@Adrik808 That’s because of reasons 2 and 3. In a smaller court you have less space to work with so contact will happen more often and because refs don’t just give fouls every time a guard gets a little contact on a drive.

Not to forget: the NBA's defensive 3 seconds rule. The NBA rules have always been designed to make offense easier than in FIBA. Players used only to NBA rules like team USA need more time to adjust. Indivudual offensive class is not sufficient anymore for USA players to coast in FIBA.

I mean Luka was complaining too much, but even you guys have to agree Brooks was playing dirty on defense, as he always does, in the Serbia game he got foul calls because of it but in the Slovenia game he didn’t get them, Luka usually complains too much but sometimes he is right. Dillon Brooks is a dirty player, always has been and always will be, it’s on the refs to call him out for it, I don’t even get why he is in the NBA he is a bad shooter with awful shot selection and maybe slightly better than average defense, which is also a liability because he likes playing dirty and can get ejected.

If they get overconfident or too lazy Serbia can only beat themselves. As a basketball loving Serbian living in Germany, I have watched our team 's stumbling over their own feet time after time again, since the last time they won the wc back in 2002. And Germany's progress since last year's EuroBasket is absolutely amazing. I was in Cologne for their first game against France and I was positively surprised about their energy as a team. They were hungry, focused and their commitment to fight for each other no matter what was outstanding. I watched every game of Germany at this tournament and they made huge steps in the right direction since last year...I am really happy for them and I am happy to see my dream final becoming true. I am rooting for Serbia, but I won't be sad if they lose against Germany. May the best team win this final.

It would be hard for Europeans to match afroamerican physical genetic talents. What we have is more team play, more understanding of the basic ideas of basketball and more focus on basic skills. Afroamericans would always be better when they play 1 vs 5 because of their speed and brute force. Only thing comparable is shooting for both european and american elite players.

Serbia already has two titles from 1998 and 20002 as an independent nation. The country kept the Yugoslavian name for a few years even after just Serbia and Montenegro were left in the union. Yugoslavia as it once was pretty much ceased to exist in 1994/1995. Those teams consisted entirely of Serbian players with very few exceptions from Montenegro (a lot of Montenegrins identify as Serbs to this day, we are very related people groups). But yeah, it would be cool to have one directly tied to the Serbia country name.

The reality is that the World Cup is not an Harlem Globetrotters show, you need to play as a team, even passing the ball. But they still don’t understand it, keeping looking for pathetic excuses. And they keep losing. Again and again.

One thing these fiba games have taught is that a stretch 5 is a waste of time if you can’t bang on the inside. Which made Steve kerr’s small ball game so ridiculous. It just highlights even more how naive the nba style was of play was.

Since I am a Serb, of course I support Serbia, but I respect the German team. They play completely different basketball than Serbia and that is probably their weakness. They spend all their strength on attack while their defense is weak, a typical NBA school.
@TMPOUZI
@TMPOUZI 8 ай бұрын
But that's their success too, they combine both worlds together. European team play, NBA high scoring mentality and a bit defence too when they need to since they have the nesecary big centers and quick guards. If the final was scheduled in a week Germany would be the favorite. Now I don't know if they'll recover their energy loss in one day, so Serbia seems the favorite
@mrgalaxy396

It will be very tough to lock them down, they are very athletic and organized in attack, they don't rely on just one player to score. If they crack our defense and we have to chase the result I think it'll be over. But if our defense manages to keep them in check, the deciding factor will be how many shots we miss. Gonna be a nailbiter on Sunday that's for sure.

US has the best team in the cup and NBA winning coaches. 12 players all in NBA, 6 players with PPG > 20, 2 first NBA draft picks, rookies of the year. They are all the future of US basketball, and they are still loose. No excuse to loose against teams with 4 NBA players if you claim that NBA winning team is a world champion. In 2019, their teams consisted the best of Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, and Bucks (minus Giannis) even still lost badly. The most important things that US team is lacking are the same team in the competitions for long time and the leadership. Both 2024 and 2019 US teams did not have them. Also, FIBA rules are stronger than NBA (travelling, foul, etc).

@@Smido83The game always went better defensively with Haliburton in at guard instead of Brunson.. i know he didnt have a great game shooting and +/- is a unreliable stat, but if you look at it there is only two US-players in double digits; and its Haliburton with +14, Brunson with -19. So i think Haliburton - Edwards - Bridges - JJJ - Kessler wouldve won them this game.

@@BS-jn9kh Thats the point. Brunsons defensive problems can be hidden better with a true Center. Not to mention that his biggest offensive strengh is the P&R game. Just look at the Knicks... Haliburton is a bigger Guard and, like your stat shows, worked well with the Smallball bench unit.
